Brian,
I saw an engineer today he said there were 13 flats in our block that this error had happened too, how can 13 flats be read wrong?
I have been taking regualar meter readings i ll let you know what they are.0 -
Hi hellow,
I wouldn't take the word of the meter reader as he doesn't see the billing side of things. He also doesn't test any of the meters to see which rate is operational during each time period.
Have you received the amended bill yet?

Hello
I have just had exactly the same call with incorrect billing going back to April 2009 when I moved in.They say the day and night readings have been muddled up by EON. They can't tell me how much I will owe and I am very upset and stressed as I am expecting a baby and cannot afford any higher payments. I am also very suspicious that the company has suddenly found all these mistakes at customers expense. The meter has been read by the EON team and readings provided as requested. Nothing more to add but I am very worried.0 -
Hi Brian,
Havent had my new bill yet. But it seems fishy that this is happening to other people on the same date this doens look good for EoN.0 -

After i find out about my new bill ill let you know but if its a negative impact i will find out how many people this has happened to and will be contacting watchdog.
Its EoN problem if the get the billing wrong not ours. They are entitled to make our change our direct debit to the correct value even if it is more but not claim back cash for a mistake they have made.0 -
Hi hellow,
Unfortunately transposed reading issues are not uncommon in the energy industry, and if you search this gas and electricity forum you’ll unfortunately see plenty of examples. It’s unlikely that the two examples are connected.
If you’ve still not received the amended bill I‘d contact the Directors’ Office, as per the complaints procedure or as I offered earlier contact me personally and I’ll be happy to chase this up for you.

Hi soudlzil,
Similar to the case raised by hellow, I’d recommend contacting either the agent dealing with the case (if you have one) or following our complaints procedure.
If you feel that the case is not being handled to your satisfaction or you’re not being kept informed, your issue needs to be owned by a particular agent until a resolution is met, our complaints process will help with this.
My offer of assistance to hellow is open to you as well, so if you’d like me to look into this for you please email me on the address in my profile page.

Similar situation here, although I moved out of my property 4 months ago! I was very surprised when I got an e-mail telling me that I now owe an additional £102 for my OLD property's electricty bill - apparently due to a transposed reading. Can a bill really be sent to someone 4 months after they have moved out and supposedly CLOSED the account? I am quite shocked and annoyed to be honest.
Do Eon often send nasty surprises like this to ex-customers Brian that paid their final bill in good faith that all was correct? The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing:)0 -
Hi JPS,
We are obliged to provide accurate bills, therefore when errors in billing are recognised they require amending both going forward and going back in time.
Unfortunately this can come as a shock and I understand that it can often be difficult to then pay for the energy you’ve used.
As a result we wouldn’t expect the bill to be settled immediately if you’d find it difficult, so we will be more than happy to discuss a suitable payment arrangement with you if it will help.
