BP - off the hook ? ...and a BUY ?

Thats my feeling and we haven't seen anything yet as regards anti bp sentiment as the US goes about extracting every dollar possible from bp and justifying with a hatchet job on all aspects of bp's operations. It will get far worse, remember 71% of Americans think that Obama has been too soft on bp!
I've seen a lot about what might happen to the holiday beaches but have yet to see any news report that actually shows lots of oil spilling onto these beaches that are apparently deserted because of peoples fears about what might be there. The only news reports I've seen show people searching for the occasional tar ball washing up on beaches. If only they knew about what was in the water and wasn't due to the oil spill would they stay away?Awaiting a new sig0 -
Hmmm, I did see a news report yesterday of Pensicola beach showing people coming out of the water with 'sticky' feet, and oil on the sand.
I do think it's going to get worse for residents before it gets better.0 -

I saw a pic of a young lady in a bikini a couple of yards away from a heavily soiled strip of sand along the water line. It is my understanding that there is an increasing number of beaches being soiled in this way. Tar balls are in all probability being spread far and wide along the gulf coasts, and although much less devastating it must still be upsetting to tread on one and have a patch of dirty, sticky and hard to remove oil. But whatever, you can guarantee that when there is the prospect of someone to blame and compensation that people (especially dare I say it, Americans) will make a meal of the difficulties.0 -
Interesting that Hussein Obama's cronies now refer The Falklands as the Malvinas. Especially interesting now oil has been found there. What are the odds that he's much prefer Britain never gets a sniff of any oil and the 'Malvinas' are back in Argie hands tout suite.
Remind me again why British lads are being blown to bits to support American adventurism in Afghanistan and Iraq?0 -
Filthy: A sunbather inspects oil washed onto the beach by the tide in Alabama. Although beaches are still open, they are closed for swimming

We are still paying off the debt incurred by loans in the First World War. The economy couldn't survive if these debts were called in.For myself I am an optimist - there does not seem to be much use being anything else.

So why haven't we seen Obama on these beaches? The only news reports I've seen is him on beaches where there are just a few tar balls. If they really wanted to make political capital then he would have made straight for the ones shown. Or are they in republican states where he has no chance of getting any support?Awaiting a new sig0 -

I believe this kind of soiling of beaches has only occurred very recently. On his latest visit I expect Obama had no incentive to play up the severity of the pollution. I expect in truth it would be better for him if it was non existent, and certainly not something he has no power to influence and which in all probability will continue and perhaps worsen till August at least.0
