Working five hours as a once off while on JSA

At the minute I am on JSA (income based) however I have been offered five hours work this Thursday. I really want to do this work as it's very well paid - £25 per hour gross. How will this affect the JSA monies I am signing for? I don't have any other work lined up.
Thanks.
Thanks.

You need to declare it when you go and sign on and complete some part time earning forms called b7 and a15c.
All bar the first £5 of your earnings will be deducted off your benefit so in effect you will get little or no jsa that fortnight0 -
Thanks for your swift response Loobysaver - it will hardly be worth my doing it then as I have a long journey there...I think I should just cancel it and let someone else who will actually be better off doing it have it.0

If it's a none signing day for you dont declare it.0

Why not just do it, declare it, then you will have earnt some money, got some experience, shown the JC you are willing to work and have something else to put on your CV?
You never know, it may lead to more work.Be who you are, say what you feel, those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind. They say that talking to yourself is a sign of mental illness. So I talk to the cats instead.0 -
It would be funny if he did declare it and ended up getting his benefits temporarily stopped anyway because of jobcentre incompetence.
I don't think that would be funny. I also think that the chances of that happening are very low. Either way, 'I didn't declare it just in case the JCP made an error' would not be a sufficient defence to a fraud allegation.Gone ... or have I?0 -

That's right - why work for your money when you can just sit on your !!!! and keep taking off the taxpayer then?0 -

Are you actually looking for a job? If this was me, I would take the job. It';s much better than signing on.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Eminently sensible. When I'm not working (school holidays) I get monumentally bored if I'm not doing something else, and I do think work can be good for you.
Also I wouldn't advise not declaring it, but I wouldn't blame you if you didn't!Can we just take it as read I didn't mean to offend you?0
