Hi, just bought a SE 850i second hand which I thought was on Orange going by the logo on the handset. However when I put in an Orange sim in it, it comes up with Invalid Sim message. Same message when I put in an O2 sim. What does that mean? Is the handset blocked.
Any suggestions?
Many Thanx

Is the phoned locked to a network?
Presumably it is to Orange - might be you need a PUK code from Orange.0 -
It may be blocked or locked take it to a phone shop and ask0

Orange branded phone so should only be locked to orange, i would give Orange a call themselves as they should be able to tell you phones status given the IMEI number of the phone.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -

I phoned up Orange yesterday and told them my problem, the fact it's an Orange handset but won't accept any Orang sims. After checking the IMEI number I was told the handset had been blocked/barred due to it being reported stolen!!
I told the guy I had purchased it second hand from a Carboot and I had no way way of knowing it's history. The guy took my PAYG sim number and told me to switch phone off and on again. Which I did, wahey.....it's working now!!:T. He also put my PAYG sim on one of the new tariffs. I asked him how he was able to put the handset back online when it had been reported stolen? His simple reply was, "Don't worry, enjoy it sir, ".
Well I'm not worried....Good of him.
Thought I had bought a very expensive paperweight...
