Carphone Warehouse O2

Hi
My 24 month contract runs out today and I just wanted some advice on what I might be able to get out of them in terms of upgrade/ retention offers? Is it even worth trying?

I am on a very good deal: £10 per month, 600 min + 200 mins bolt on with 1000 texts (a retention deal that I found out about on this site originally)

Thanks.

    Hi,

First of all allegedly this deal no longer exists... So I have been told by multiple agents anyway. I was on the same tariff but with unlimited web instead of the extra minutes.

    I settled for £250 Cashback + Nokia 6700 @ £30 per month on a 24 month contract. I sold the phone for £150 so effectively the contract will cost me £13.33 per month overall (24 x £30 = £720, - £400 = £320, / 24 months = £13.33pm. 600 mins 1000 texts and unlimited internet.

I could probably have got a better deal if I had pushed but it was important for me to retain the existing tariff which lets you use texts abroad for free and to use your text allowance for MMS as opposed to the new "unlimited" tariffs which don't!

    Hope this helps you.

Did you ring O2 direct or go through Carphone Warehouse?

I quite fancied an iPhone but don't know if they would offer that...

O2CPW - The customer loyalty team in Warrington. I'm sure they would offer you a deal, it just depends how much you want to pay.

Anybody else had any experience of trying this lately? I am going to ring them later and would love to hear tips etc on how to haggle and what they may/ may not be willing to offer. I certainly don't want to end up losing the deal I already have totally.

    Thanks.

You had also better check and see if it will roll over. If so, I would keep it for ever and buy the phone I wanted for cash elsewhere!!!
