Edinburgh Festival Accommodation

This is a long shot!

Can I please ask if anyone out there has a place to let for the duration of the Festival in Edinburgh? My husband who will be performing needs a place to stay. I've been lookin at the usual places but so far nothing has come up and we simply can't afford the £400pw that so many people charge for a small room during the Festival.

Please PM if you have anything! Thanks. :D

Prices are at a premium then. Try outside of Edinburgh on a railway line, good service.

I know prices are at a premium but last year we managed to get a double room in Central Edinburgh for £80pw so it IS possible.

I'm just putting out feelers to see if anyone has a spare room going as the accommodation has to be central for work purposes.

Lots of the student halls can be rented for this period - don't expect anything too nice though if you go down that route!

Is he performing on his own? When I've sorted out accommodation for groups before we rented a huge house (sleeps 10-12 ish) and it wasn't anywhere near £400pw. More like 200 maybe? (can't remember exactly)

Outside Edinburgh is a good shout - but I guess it depends on what time his show is? Which you may or may not know yet?
Excuse any mis-spelt replies, there's probably a cat sat on the keyboard

I think he's on 5pm ish but he really does need to be Central as it's not just performing that needs to be done. There's flyering etc and meeting new people and having a central base is very important for this. He definitley won't want to be anywhere that's not within half an hour easy bike commuting distance.

First half of the festival he's doing a show with someone else but they are looking for accommodatin seperately as the last half of the festival, my hubby will be doing a one man show.

the trains run during the wee small hours in festival season tho, so inverkeithing or somewhere glasgow side may be an option.

Sorry, I'll be a bit more clear. I am looking for somewhere in Edinburgh and outside towns won't really be an option for him as he really does need to be central. It would be ok if he wasn't actively promoting his own shows etc and just visiting but you really need to be on the ground so to speak.

    Please help lovely people! :D

    showtunes girl,

in festival season, it's expensive, or compromise on location. I think we're trying to help with that compromise!

and he CAN promote and stay further out. He just needs to plan ahead. Plenty folk do it!

Hi, I hear what you are saying but we did manage to do it last year. It was a central location and only £80 a week. I'm trying to find a similar situation this year.

Not possible as the person was a student as are her flatmates and it's their last year and they are giving up the place in June. I have already asked for her to put some feelers out though.
