  • Today has been a good and positive day so far.

I have managed to sort out my credit card - I had one of those uncomfortable "you may have had a fraudulent transaction" emails through over the weekend, and have spent a good few hours fretting (even though I checked my transactions and can't see anything I didn't already know about. Anyway, it appears that one of the computers I use to access my card details has been infected with a virus or something and they have stopped my credit card. Lovely. I was going to use it to pay for a hotel this coming weekend, but now I am going to have to use my debit card and be skinter than a skinty thing until payday. Oh well, these things are sent to try us.

I have also spent a lot of time getting prepared for a presentation to my executive management board this afternoon. I had the associate dean on the phone asking questions about the presentation and I managed to answer all the questions she threw at me :) I felt very proud of myself. Now, I just have to do the presentation and make sure I can answer everything that the other members of the executive chuck at me, and get out of the room with only minor cuts and abrasions, and I shall be a happy bunny. I am okay with speaking to groups of people (hell, I sing solo in front of 500 strangers most Sundays as a form of relaxation!) so I think I shall be okay with that... and I really know my subject, so I am confident it will all be fine. Doesn't stop me feeling collywobbles though!!

I have also been cracking on with my professional portfolio; it is really getting somewhere now. I have two sections out of six written and evidenced, and I need to do some editorial changes on them. I am drafting the third part (after a change of heart and a change of subject!) and have the rest of it planned out in quite a lot of detail. I am completing the portfolio in between my normal workload, and so far, it is really working.

Tonight is choir practice, so I won't be home until late tonight, but inbetween leaving work and driving home I have some errands to run in town. I just need to remember not to use my damned credit card, and I should be fine! :)

:rotfl:It is soooo much worse than that!! :) No, I think this is one of those things I need to do myself, though I might need people to ring up and pretend to be my PA if I don't any responses from my former employers. :D And the odd kick in the backside to get on with it would not go amiss either. Thank you so much for the offer though!! :D

    I haven't done mine yet either :(
Although it must be 8 years now since I passed my exams.

Of all the things I have procrastinated about in my life, this must be one of the worst.
  • Come on ladies - so much more kudos with acca, acma, aca than passed finalist!

It feels fab when it's done... Come on girlies - by Christmas eh :) x

    Afternoon all,

I have decided to track this thread down after it was flagged up on another thread. It seems this is where all the positive people are hanging out and right now I could do with a spot of that! Hope you dont mind me gate crashing?

A little about me, I split from my ex 5 years ago. During that time I have had some pretty profound experiences of "friendship". Those I thought were friends were not, and those I wasnt sure about have been rocks. I have now managed to save up enough to buy my own place (albeit it was a wreck) and have spent the last year renovating it. I have also got a second job and am trying desperately to fit in some study as I am retraining. That said, I flunked a lovely audit exam in June and it has knocked my confidence so I am here to hope your positivity rubs off :D

Looking forward to chatting with you all

Yes, it is to get those damned letter after my name! :) Except in my case it is CPFA, rather than ACCA or CMA or anything. And it is a hideously awful process.

Helen105, you make me feel so much better, that it is not just me who has been procrastinating about this! :D

Hi there Redlady... if you have done an audit exam... are you one of us accountants? Do pm me if you have any problems with audit... I am really, really good at it. One of the times i have scared people most is when I was off to do some compliance testing. Seriously, people hid under the desk from me!!:rotfl:
