    OK my lovelies - grab yourself a cup of tea and hear whats been happening over the weekend.

    On Friday, despite them keeping us hanging on for what seemed like - well FOREVER. The trustees decided they were going to sell Parkview School in Dundee to developers - so then we were well and truly up the muddy river without a panel.

    ...................so we went back to the "This or something better" mindset and started calling around again" ..........

    ................ and a major miracle happened. I mean something so marvellous that I still don't believe it actually came through.

    The head of the local Ed Authority has offered us not ONE - but TWO schools here in NE Fife.
    :j:beer::j:beer::j:beer::j:beer::j:beer:

    Neither school is big enough on it's own to take everyone in our school (2 yrs 10 mths to 18 years), but one is big enough to take the Childrens House and Elementary classes (2yrs-12yrs) and the other is suitable for our Erd-Kinder (12-18 yrs)

    Even better news:T:T The one that my 2 sons will be at (until DS1 goes to erd-kinder) is less distance than the one we currently travel to (about 4 miles from here), is currently running as a school so will be compliant in all the Health & Safety and Care Commission stuff. All we will have to do is move in , clean like demons, decorate to make the environment beautiful and set up our materials:j:j

    The other school is the same - although I will need to source some other bits n pieces for the bigger kids. It is also very close to our local University town - and we have such brilliant conections with the University that I am thrilled we can keep our kids with the passionate and exciting "teachers" they have access to there.

    My head is spinning - I am so excited for us as a school. So excited that I spent yesterday in bed after being up all night with D&V. I am just going to regard that as my boy's way of getting rid of all the tension its been holding these last few weeks:eek:

    ..................however, moving swiftly on............;)

    THANK YOU< THANK YOU< THANK YOU to everyone on here who has been sending out positive intentions towards us. I cannot believe that this has come to such a swift - and perfect resolution - and from such an unexpected source.

    Miracles really do happen:D

    Still expecting the cheque though:rotfl::rotfl:

    Brilliant news. I am so proud of all the time and energy you have put in so far. Glad you know now and hopefully the other things you are thinking will also come as easily for you. x

    Sounds like we have set some neurons sparking again for you this morning. Our florist also had a nappy cake in the window so i'll look at prices for you when i head that way again. I have to say it might be a while though as we are staying close to home at the minute as my hayfever has been killing me the past few days.

    I just got a copy of the secret and am reading it before i go to bed each night in the hope that my dreams are filled with nice thoughts too. I think it must be working a little for me too. Ebay sales are going well. I put my old and slightly broken camera on ebay thinking that someone might like it for the case and memory card, or perhaps a few spare parts. The last 2 went for £16 each. Mine went for £24. Partly hard effort at keep finding things to list on ebay, but i would like to believe some of it is this.

    Come on over to MFW. We are all lovely and welcoming over there. At least 3 of us regularly post here, and they love any new ideas. I'm sure if you posted you would be made hugely welcome.

    Confession time;)

    Forgive me DFW's because I have sinned. I've only gone and blown my ENTIRE £2 savings tin on ...............

    ................... a chest freezer :j:j

    £40 from our local Charity furniture place and I am sooooooooo chuffed - although I'm feeling a teensy bit guilty blowing all those coins.

    I now have a freezer to bulk cook and freeze all the cost saving goodies to carry us through the lean months ahead - and to that end.........

    I have a second confession ............

    I spent £17.43 in LIDL:eek::eek:

    Ok so lots of that was tinned tomatoes for batch cooking lasagne, curries and stuff .......... but I did buy 2 for £2.00 punnets of strawberries and cream at 68p that was not even on any list (real or imaginary) But DS1 will be my best friend tonight.

    I also had to buy a piece of parmesan - and that costs a small mortgage wherever you buy it - butit does go very far.

    SO I have really blown the budget for this week - so now its time to get creative in the kitchen and turn as much of my bits n n bobs into "ready meals" for my freezer.

    I will be back with some recipes a la cheap n cheerful Slimming World:T

    Hi MG,

    very, very happy for you and the school. As the your spending - the freezer sounds like a good investment and the strawberries are a lovely treat. And here is a suggestion (in case you decide to get them again):

    500 g strawberries
    250 g sugar (can reduce this)
    1egg white (beaten to white)

    Mix strawberries and sugar, fold in the beaten egg white and put in ice-cream maker - heaven.

    Sounds like an investment to me too. Especially when the VAT goes up to 20% come January.

    I was just thinking to myself how could i best use the storage space in my house to try and beat the VAT rise by having a stockpile of goods. Luckily we have the garage too, so i might have a word with DH about organising ourselves. Also make even more use of the cheap food place up the road and less use of the chain supermarkets.

    I definitely need to get better at making bread and the such.
