Quick catch-up for the morning - as I am heading off to school with the boys to pack yet more boxes:D Gotta keep smiling otherwise I might start crying at the thought.

If I get a wiggle on though - I can meet all the kids atthe local fruit farm where they are spending the day. Might even make it in time for lunch:o

I now have a full 1% of my mortgage in savings - Wooohoooo!!!!!!!!!!

and I've still got he £20 per week dribbling in from the Mind Maps I am doing for a business partner (as a single Mum I'm allowed to earn £20 per week) The total for these is £1200 - so if I squirrel away another £50 pronto that actually takes is to 2% over the year.

Expensive month coming up - with house insurance, car insurance and a wedding. Wedding I can cope with (its paid or saved up for in my penny jar) and I can probably get one of the insurances paid outright - just wondering if paying both might be a little too close for comfort. Although it would make sense to "borrow" the money from my savings and pay it back to myself rather than pay the monthly payment premium I suppose.

Decisions, decisions. Would rather have a mega tight month than limp through again on the monthly thing. Attitudes are changing here in Memorygirl world.

Have decided to keep transferring money - but to do it on a friday this month - anything over £500 gets whipped into the savings account as it will be too tight to do the daily thing. Please remind me come August to get back on the PAD wagon.

Instead I have set up my sewing machine and over the course of the year I will be looking to create a minimum of 1% of my mortgage payment by creating "virtual stock" - stuff I can sell when I get back to work. First project is 32 kiddy aprons for sale at £3.99 each.

Might even add the "Virtual stock" to my signature.

Later my friends - have a low spendie day

:eek:OMG DFW884!!! You have had such a productive day yesterday. There must have been something in the air because I packed 28 boxes of Montessori Materials yesterday too - boy did I sleep last night.

It was a one off memory girl... we don't all have your endless energy! You are going great guns with packing up the school, hope you get it done soon. Having just moved house I know that it's a horrible job. But think what a lovely school you'll have at the end of it all!

I've kept up the breadmaking and just did a beautiful multiseed loaf. And I have enough leftovers in the fridge to take care of tonight's tea, so that's me happy.

Brilliant news about the mortgage by the way, such a good idea!

"when you make plans ................God laughs"

Having a bit of a wobbly day - sooooooooo tired and there is still so much to do that I think I am feeling a little overwhelmed - so bear with me.

I am STILL packing boxes - but I can see the end of the whole thing, and TBH sheer bloody mindedness will keep me going till the bitter end. But there is no getting around the fact that I have almost single-handedly packed up an entire school in a few weeks - so my grumps today may simply be down to being weary to the bones.

I sat in on a meeting at the weekend where I saw the cashflow forecasts for the school for next year. Now I know we only have to survive another year - but they really can't afford to take my son unless I can pay fees this year. GULP!!! £5000. They keep saying "don't worry it will be all right" - but in my heart I know I have to find this money from somewhere. Everyone else is paying and I will have to as well - its the right thing to do.

So the plan is now 50 products for Christmas - each product line selling £100 - all monies made payable to the school (registered charity). The overpayments on the mortgage may have to step down several gears (for a while)

Oh! I am gonig to be a busy bee!!!! And that is after we have moved from our existing school, after we have decorated the new one, after we have created the gardens at the new one, after we have marketed the new one, after we have trained the new teachers, and found them somewhere to live, after we have sorted out where our big kids are going to study, and live, and work - after, after, after.............................

Now the reality of it is I don't have to do all of this personally - its just that the list seems to be growing daily and not shrinking however much work I put in. I'm sure it will turn around after the term ends and decisions have been made.

    Need my postitive mindset back.................

    In the meantime

....it rained last night so the watering of the garden is taken care of.
.... our "Wedding hamper" is packed, cellophaned and ready to be delivered to my friend who is driving down to the wedding with it.
....my frock still needs the shoulders lifted slightly
.... I have about 12lbs of strawberries to jam (sod it, they are going in to the freezer and I will make jam when I have some time)
.... tablet for hamper made, cracked and packed into a bowl.
.....loads of food in the freezers to keep us going
..... all ingredients in for 2 chocolate cakes for the "Goodbye Lunch" tomorrow at school.

.... and my heart is breaking with my darling DS1.........

...........you see his best friends at school for the last 7 years don't know if they are joining us at the new school - and I think this is the first time he has really felt the pain of saying goodbye. He was so quiet last night, looked so sad this morning that I just wanted to hug him and never let go. But I guess there are some things that even a Mummy can't fix.

Now off to deliver the hamper, feed the bubs and get back to school for more packing.

50 product lines  for christmas. Not a big ask. You are so resourceful i am sure you will do it as well. Start making a list on here, and we will all have to get our thinking caps on for you.

Idea 1 - bags of reindeer food. Nursery did this for my DS1 when he was smaller. Basically, a bit of porridge oats mixed with some glitter, and wrapped prettily in nice cellophane. (supposedly cheap from a florist. ) It came with a little bit of paper with something written on but i can't remember what it was. I'm sure i have seen similar online though before.

Not sure it would be a high price item, but it should be cheap and quick to make, and parents might like the novelty value.

Let's see how soon we can get you up to 50.

you must be seriously exhausted at the moment with all the effort of moving that it must all seem really hard, but remember, it will come. I still keep my full confidence in you and look forward to your next musings, and also the ciabatta recipe. ;)

Just popping in to see how you are doing - I imagine you are very busy with all this new school stuff so haven't had the time to post.

Hope you get it all finished in time!

I'm back - from all the mayhem that was packing up the school last week - and then the wedding over the weekend - I haven't even got time to breathe.

Wedding was fabulous - weather was great, bargain cheap flights, shared a hotel room with my girlie friend, took cava and vodka for the room (v expensive hotel) - and chauffeur driven to and from the airport by the grooms staff (he owns an executive car service)

So all in all a pretty DFW time was had by all.

My dress was a fabulous hit - £4.50 from the charity shop and I looked a million dollars (serious Gok bangers in my push up bra:j). Made my hips look teeny -:T

I have a confession to make ladies ..........................

You know this positive thinking stuff we are doing??????? Well sitting very relaxed waiting for the bride to walk down the aisle i mused.......... "I think I'm ready to start dating again" - OK - set the intention .............. and then the wedding started, the food, the champagne, the toasts, the champagne, the playing "naughty aunties" with the kids, the champagne, the photographs, the champagne, the buffet, the vodka, the dancing - the oxygen :rotfl:

Gets on a plane Sunday night (A teeny bit tired and hungover) - and I only gets asked out to dinner by a professional footballer on a training trip to Scotland!!!!!!!!!!!

So I said yes, got home, googled the cute guy ;)

    OMG!!!!!!!!! He's 25:eek::eek::eek:

Stop laughing Clootiesmum - I know you done the maths, and YES HE IS YOUNG ENOUGH TO TECHNICALLY BE MY SON!!!!!!!

So the moral of the story .......................

BE VERY SPECIFIC WHAT YOU WISH FOR. I got a dinner date, just hope he's old enough to use his cutlery and doesn't need his food cut up for him.

Next time I will be clearer:A But tonight - wish me luck ladies:D:D:D:D

BTW he knows that I'm 41 and doesn't care

Hey memory girl, Long time lurker here. Just thought id pop in and say that age really is no barrier im 27 and my OH is turning 42 this year and we have been together for almost 3 years. Before that I was stuck in a dead end relationship for 7 years with a bloke that was only a year older than me, meeting my OH was the best thing I ever did. Hope things go really well with the dinner date.
