I would like to thank you memory girl for starting your diary, i've been inspired, to declutter and spruce up my home, and my kitchen is starting to look fab.

I would love to come off my benefits too and go back to work. (i'm a qualified nursery nurse, but after a back injury had to give up my job.) and i now have a disc out of place at the bottom of my spine. So i struggle to do anything without having to sit after a few minutes.

I make jewellery as part of occupational therapy to help keep my arm active (i have cerebral palsey that affects my right arm) But as i don't drive can only sell locally. i would love to beable to come off my benefits and do the jewellery full time :) Its taken years to actually get where i am now, where all my beads, made stock, boxes have actually been paid for by the business and i'm now starting to get a bit of money (from selling the jewellery) to beable to buy more boxes and beads when needed, without the money coming out of my own pocket.

  • That's so cool, MG!

If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

Clarewop, I wouldn't rule out Etsy (or the UK equivalent, Folksy) just because other people sell jewelry on there - I'm sure yours is equally as good! Then you could get it posted out to all over the country! We're all here to think big, after all! :T :)

Claire, I've never heard of MISI, but I do go on to Etsy. I don't know if it costs you anything to list on there, but it be worth considering.
Also, think about setting your website as your homepage.

    Lovely idea MG.

Click on User CP and then select edit details....there is an option for you to set your site URL as your homepage.

I intend to do it once I get my site set up.

Great news on the book sales MG and your brave change of heart :T:T:T and so nice that you are passing on your good fortune. You'll get that back in spades :A

I was reading about Michelle Mone in The Observer today - another strong Scottish businesswoman, who made me think about you. I know you have one fabulous mentor already, but would you consider contacting someone like her? It might come to nothing, but if pointed in the direction of this thread, who knows where it could lead.....

    Just a thought ;)
