Know what you mean about boys. We tried with DS1 and he didn't get it at all. Then a couple of months later he wanted to do it and cracked number 1s quite quickly, but it was a year before the rest of it clicked, Then within about a week he was clean day and night.

DS2 has been telling me has done a poo since he was about 15 months old. I'm hoping the fact he wants to do everything like his brother is a help. He keeps taking his nappy off and telling me he wants pants on. Thankfully i don't need to buy any of them as i had so many for DS1 and i also got given loads from my sister. Thank heavens for primark and george.

Couldn't make my quiche in the end. Forgot to take the butter out to make the pastry and i was also trying to wake DS2 up from a very late nap. Late bedtime tonight.

Maybe tomorrow but DS1 just munched on the end of my block of cheese that was destined for the quiche. Monkey. It was all in his mouth when i realised. Going to have to go shopping tomorrow for some essentials.

Onwards and downwards. Weight as well as mortgage for me i hope.

I hate waiting too. On the bright side, it hopefully means very thorough discussion about what is best. That is only right really when they are discussing something so serious.

ETA - quick question or two about Gnocchi recipe.
Do you make it with hot or cold mash?
Is it alright to make it tonight then cook for tomorrows dinner?
Do you add any herbs or anything rather than so much salt and pepper? Just thinking it might be a bit too salty for the kids, and i am also watching salt intake due to blood pressure. I understand it needs some taste though and potato can be so bland. I was thinking some garlic might work?

I'm hoping that they've made their decision (positive) and want to wait to phone someone first thing in the morning. - fingers crossed!!!

Don't know how I'm going to sleep tonight?

ETA - quick question or two about Gnocchi recipe.
Do you make it with hot or cold mash? Either - but it feels like warm play-doh if you use warm tatties - OK!! its just me then - LOL

Yes - just dust with flour and put your gnocchi in single layers on a chopping board, big plate and cover with greaseproof (I cover mine with a tea-towel cos plastic wrap makes them go sticky, then bung in the fridge.

These also freeze really well - and you can cook them from frozen. Just freeze them loose then pop into a bag. On eo the yummiest things to do with leftover mash.

Do you add any herbs or anything rather than so much salt and pepper? Just thinking it might be a bit too salty for the kids, and i am also watching salt intake due to blood pressure. I understand it needs some taste though and potato can be so bland. I was thinking some garlic might work?

Would work great - I've also had them when pureed spinach and basil were added to the potatoes too.

Do you guys believe in Metaphysics - bear with me here. Everyone around me has been dropping hints that I need to read "The Secret". So being a good little DFW I order it from the Library.

Finished reading it in the car waiting in the rain for school to kick out and was doing that 4pm drifty snoozy thing when the phone rang. An old contact suddenly though of me for a wee job they had - £150 for a couple of hours on my speciality ............payable at £20 per week in case and DWP bods are reading:cool:

    A co-incidence???????????? Maybe????????????

    Shoud I start programming for a Millionaire?????:rotfl:

OK - first good thing was the weeny job to do.

Second - Mums BestFriend has offered us loads of files and folders froma cupboard they are clearing out at work - brilliant because they are on my list for the big kids at our school to contain all the paperwork they generate.

At £1.99 each we have a couple of hundred of pounds worth of kit.

    Thanks to Mums Best Friend.

Now listen Universe - we need this school building - put us out of our misery - you know these things have to come in threes. Its like, the law or summink innit??

Sounds like a successful day so far Memory Girl.

Another question about the gnochhi, I've only tried it once and they were shop bought and vile _pale_ so, do homemade differ in taste?
DD & I are mash lovers, so I think it could be great for us, DH thinks mash is the food of the devil so I wouldn't waste it on him.

Have you tried the ravioli maker yet?

Can't believe you have to wait another day. I hope you sleep ok. Good news on the freebies. I've not heard of metaphysics? Is that like the cosmic ordering thing that Noel Edmonds did before he was offered Deal or No Deal?

Right, thanks for the gnocchi tips. I think i might have gone a little wrong at first as the mix was really sticky and i had to just keep adding more and more flower and in the end, i got a couple of boxes of the balls to try another night. I don't think the kids will eat them, so it will do myself and DH for a couple of dinners. I said to DH i hope he likes them enough to want them twice but not enough to want them very often as it was a lot of faff and the kids got out most of their toys while i was doing it. It took a while. We'll try them tomorrow and let you know our verdict. They will get eaten whichever way, but would i bother again.

Interesting evening. I've just managed to grab a phone call mystery shop which is great in theory apart from i can't work out how to record the call. I've had to email for extra help. I'm also running free bingo games while i do this. Fingers crossed for even a small win. :D
