Broadband advice...going over my limit

Hi there. My last few bills have been over on my broadband, and BT are advising me to upgrade my package. I am on the lowest price package...option 1. I just wanted to know if this is because the kids are downloading too much or is it that we are surfing too much?

Surfing uses hardly any of your allowance, downloading is the heaviest use, so it will be the kids that are causing you to go over your limit.

It's not downloading that is measured-it's total data usage. That applies both to upstream and downstream, and whether your kids are downloading or just streaming. Either way, it's all using up your monthly allowance.

Maybe his set top aerial (over in tech) isn't as good as you though - perhaps he's on iplayer :)

if you are looking to upgrade then maybe also look at other broadband suppliers , if you have Sky Tv then it may be much cheaper to takes theirs instead
