When an aerial is mounted in the loft space, moving it just one foot up, down, to the left or to the right can make a big difference to the received signal but at least it is usually easy to do. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Well you first post makes no sense then if your aerial is pointing at Sutton Coldfield as the channels used are 41, 44, 47, 51, 52, 55.
The site will tell you what compass bearing your aerial should be pointing and what type of aerial is suggested for your particular location.
Are we stumbling over two different definitions of 'channels' here?
One referring to the broadcast channels, the other (OP) referring to channel/station/broadcaster numbers within Freeview?0 -

Ahhhhhh yes, it does seems like that. I did wonder what the other poster was talking about at one point. Yes i was reffering to the station numbers within freeview. Sorry if i didnt make myself very clear :-(0 -
Also may be worth checking the connections on the aerial cables, if there is a bad connection it would result in poorer reception.0

What doesn't add up here is that you have installed "an extra high gain aerial" and have missing channels yet your son is using a simple set top aerial with a booster and gets them all. It seems to me that you have a problem either with your connections or the coax itself or possibly the aerial is way off the correct direction.0

Sorry....he doesnt get them all, just more than me. As i said earlier its the multiplex C channels that i dont get, but he does.
If there was a problem with the connections etc then wouldnt that make the picture bad? The picture is crystal clear. Or am i being thick again :-s0 -
Freeview tends to either work or not. There is a small halfway house where you'll get breakup but there is none of that "snowy picture" stuff with digital.0
