    :D

    I did actually try the Co-Op one, but their website was such a mess and their terms so vague I really couldn't be bothered. It asked for so much information just to become a member, let alone have a card. !!!!!! what is with these companies? I just wanted a bit of cashback ;_;

    Okay, actually been thinking about this and I would like a credit card, and if possible I would like one with cashback.

    The only options I can see are the Co-Op one still, but the website is an absolute mess which is really off putting. Also the Egg card but that's a MasterCard and has a (very small) monthly fee. Seems like maybe I dodged a bullet with that Amex card too, my friend said absolutely no where accepts them. Probably should've looked into that before applying huh.

    I guess that's a no then. Rubbish.

    Not necessarily.

    Why did you ignore the previous advice and apply for Amex rather than speaking to your bank as your best chance of a "first credit card".

    Have you looked at your credit report?

    Before you apply for anything else, do you know that multiple applications will temporarily reduce your credit score?

    Does your friend have one ?

    I've found Amex to be accepted at most places, ie. booking flights, restaurants, petrol stations, hotels etc. One small pub I went to didn't take Amex.

    Whilst its necessary to carry cash or another card as its not universally accepted, the majority of places do take it without question.

    Mate you and your cashback,just get yourself a decent credit card without cashback,unless you earn a few quid and spend loads on your cashback card it aint worth it..

    I'm probably going to be spending £1,000 a month on average on my card. Sure that's only a tenner a month, assuming 1% cashback, but that's £120 a year I'd be better off than if I were to have a regular card, so forgive me for having a preference for one with cashback.

    I bank with Lloyds and all of their cards are MasterCard instead of Visa unfortunately. After the Amex thing I'm a bit sceptical about getting anything other than Visa.

    For £2.50 a week mate i would not bother,but if thats what you want,still think when comes to cashback i personally think lenders who do cashback credit cards i:e amex tend to try attract big spenders not people who spend just £1000 a month..

    Screw Amex anyway! :p

    But yeah fair enough, £120 a year probably isn't worth the hassle (although thinking about it, allowing for petrol and if I could get cash withdrawals it'd be a lot higher than that) but now I'm not even sure if I can be bothered with the hassle of a credit card. Meh. Keep just going around in circles! :/ Soz
