Just realised my cars MOT ran out on 23rd Feb!
Obviously i'll be calling garage first thing in the morning, will they/can they charge me extra, or will they just back-date it?

They should neither charge you extra nor back date it.

Assuming it passes, the certificate will last for one year from the date of the test.

I will leave it to others to comment on what has been happening since 23 February. :D

As Keith says, plus provided there is nothing wrong with the car safety wise, it's hardly a cardinal sin, but equally, why risk a ticket?

Sticker with date attached to inside of petrol flap works for me, gets seen everytime I empty my wallet  ;);)
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Last time a got an Mot the garage gave me a sort of tax disc with the date so you can see it from the inside. Do all garages do that now ?

I think there still is a tear off sticky as part of the cert, before they were separate and the garage usually stock it directly to the tax disc holder.

No MOT is only a £30 fine and no points, so it's not mega-serious.

Obviously the self-appointed MSE Road Safety Police may be along later to berate you.

MOT booked for Thursday, hubby reckons it should pass with no problems. Here's hoping.

What kind of human being can drive around with no MOT? Screams reckless irresponsibility to me!!! How dare you risk our lives by driving a car that is automatically a death trap because you forgot to take it to get its annual certificate...
