Oh god no! We're flying to Florida next Saturday from Gatwick... or maybe not now!? I see it's only around EIRE at the moment though.

I know, OH is due to be flying from Dublin here on Wednesday. Last time I was going there and it was cancelled. Terrible bad luck at the moment!

dont expect it to be the same as last time if it does get worse. we were stuck and the blame game has really started as they know they need to pay for hotels for those stranded. this mornings story was that the Civil Aviation Authority are blaming the airline engine manufacturers. Last week it was the UK governments fault, who will it be next week, and all those stranded are still out of pocket.

I wouldn't worry about it. They'd probably have to be physical volcanic rocks up there to stop flying again.

The airlines cannot afford not to fly. They can't afford the lost revenue, they ca't afford to pay staff to stay at home, and above all they can't afford to acommodate half of Europe at their expense.

Remember, the ash didn't go away last time, the tolerance rules were just re-written.

The article says that flights going over airspace between UK and Ireland will be fine, it's just taking off and landing in Ireland.
Ryanair even have it on their website at the moment that delays and cancellations are expected.
