Where can you put a dishwasher?

This is a house we are looking at. There is a gap for a washing machine but I was wondering where you would be able to put a dishwasher. Obviously you would need to change the cupboards. I'm thinking you could put one to the right of the sink but then you would lose all the corner cupboard space?

My house such a gap, and put a beko dishwasher in. All it needs is a space for it and plumbing for the waste and one feed for water which is what a washer would need

No there isn't a utility room so we would need to fit a washer AND a dishwasher in that kitchen.

Looks like the only way would be to lose one of the lower cupboard spaces and fit it there..... if it was a toss up between a cupboard and my dishwasher the cupboard would just have to go

Can it not fit in that gap near the window, then it just needs plumbing in using the water pipe under sink and waste pipe goes in there too. You will need to put a hole in the cupboard rhs of the gap

I think you can also get slimline dishwashers too. DW are very economical now to use

I didn't have room for both so I originally plumbed the washing machine in under the stairs (well I didn't but you know what I mean). A couple of years later when I had the garage converted into a bedroom, I had the end part turned into a utility room, which holds the washing machine and tumble drier. That works well though I do need to go round the back to the house outside to reach it.

Could you do a conversion like this?

There would appear to be plenty of cupboard space including that great tall cupboard in the foreground, I would sacrifice a cupboard.

In my kitchen (which is similar) we had a slimline dw to the left of the sink (lost a little of the under the sink space) and the washing machine at right angles to the sink.

It all feeds in under the sink and was a pretty straight forward job.

Yes we could fit it in the gap but we would also need a washing machine. I don't think we'll be able to afford any converting if we buy the house unfortunately. I think the only thing we could do would be to lose a cupboard which would be fine I just wondered if it was possible as I don't think they can go next to a cooker.

Nothing wrong with having one next to an oven - ours has been next to one for 6 years - and this is where I'd put one in this kitchen. Remove the cupboard to the right, I'd be tempted to change all the doors, white is great when you aren't using it!

You would need to plumb it to the right hand side of the sink, at 90degrees to the window wall. Loose the first cupboard in that run and then it is close to the waste and water. Just need to think where you can plug it in. Best bet is probably to drill a small hole in the back of the worktop, feed the mains cable up and put a new plug on.
