It sounds like she is a real member of the family and well loved. All she needs now is time to heal and plenty of TLC.

Have to say I'm really surprised that she wasn't spayed, but I suppose your Vet had his reasons not to.

    Good luck x

She is a member of the family. It just seems strange that she isn't her usual self. :(

I think speying after she is fully recovered would be a good idea, unless you have any specific reasons not to.
What breed is she? Or did I miss that bit?
    Hope she gets well soon!

They removed her womb. She is an Alsation and she is 8 and 1/2 years old. Thanks for your well wishes.

I hope your dog gets better OP. My dog lives in the house.

When he had an accident, I used boiling hot water, and bleach, and rinsed well. I know detergents can be harmful to dogs, but rinsing well (till its off), and waiting till the area has dried has been fine for mine. He's now 10 years old.

Thank you for asking. She will only eat bread, Pedigree Gravy Bones, Denta stix and Schmackos. She will not eat tinned dog food or dry dog food. She is being fed twice a day to get her to take her tablets were as previously she was fed once a day so I suppose she is still eating something. It takes her longer to go to the toilet than it used to. She is drinking a lot more than she used to. Her wound appears to be healing.

Our old girl was 12 when within hours she went from feeling fine to being at deaths door ,we rushed her to the vets and she was diagnosed with Pyometra ,apparently she was minutes from death ,she had shown no sign of being ill before that ,except for an odd smell a few days before ,brave girl :(
She was operated on immediately and her womb was removed ,the vet said it was so enlarged he had never seen one so bad :(
Anyway ,after being released from the vets ,we were told to keep her calm and quite for a week or 2 !!!
Ummmm within a couple of hours she was completely back to herself and wanting to run around like a lunatic !
Good luck ,our doggies are tough and seem to recover from things a lot better than us weak humans do :)
