Xbox vs xbox 360 question.

I know nothing about those consoles, but I have the possibility to buy a black Xbox dirt cheap. But can you play games for the xbox 360 on the black xbox or are they separate games for each one of them?

You can't play xbox 360 games on an xbox. The
360 replaced the original xbox and is far more advanced.

Completely different consoles. You can NOT play 360 games on an original xbox. That's why they're so cheap to buy.

I bought one to use as a media centre experiment. That meant modding it to play movies etc which worked quite well, but it's a huge box compared to the media centre hard drives you can buy these days.

I hate when they do that, I am looking as well to buy a 20gb or 60gb old PS3 for the backward compatibility with PS2 games. I have a few PS2 games that I want to carry on playing. They are more expensive to buy than old Xbox though.

you will pay through the nose for a BC compatible PS3
easier just keeping an old PS2

yes,though the 360 upscales the graphics on the xbox 1 games

the way sony are going you'll end up with a unit that will do nothing more than play PS3 games. Take a look at the amount of features (hardware & software) they have removed since the release of the fat ps3s.

yes,i dont know if all play though(its software emulation due to M$ and nvidia having a fall out)

lol dont get me started
i remember they slated the 360 for only having software emulation
then they dropped hardware and went software
then they dropped the whole thing saying folks didnt want to play old games anyway
