Wedding dress woes :(............

I feel very bogged down with the whole wedding dress thing atm I feel stressed out.

I have been dress shopping a few times and took one of my bridesmaids (who I trust completely about what suits/doesn't suit me very constructive person she is) and a friend with me all of those times

One of the times I also took my sister who is also meant to be my MOH with me and as a result I'm thinking of asking her to step down as my MOH she is really really unsuportive and I was really upset by that trip she was abrasive and twisted her face up at everything before throwing a massive strop at the style of bridesmaid dress I want over something that was really trivial

Anyway I have tried one dress on that I loved http://www.essensedesigns.com/dress-D964 I felt pretty in it and got this strange feeling in my tummy which is usually a good thing the shop I was in allowed us to take photos so we did but they didnt do it justice at all I forwarded these pics to mum dad and sis and everyone of them hated it !! They told me it was the pleats on it they didnt feel it suited me and I looked like I was trying to hide a fat tummy when I don't have one lol if that makes any sense

The pic they had was taken straight from the front and it was me in the dress with no accessories. It looked completely different when i was in the shop I looked shapely and slim the dress in the shop was a size 12 and would need no alterations it fit like a glove I want a jacket to go with it too I've got a thing about my upper arms and the shop gave me one to try and the tiara shoes etc.

My family also hate the sweetheart neckline this isn't the only dress they have hated i've sent them about 10 and they hate the lot the only one they half liked was very much the same style as my 1st wedding dress which I was determined I'm not having for obvious reasons

So any advice on this ladies ? What do you think ? I have now told them lot once I find my dress I will take them to see it in the flesh I'm not sending any pics over again

That dress is a new design and the shop I was in wanted £1k for it:eek::eek: the MSE in me wants it for less so the hunt online has begun however with it being a new style its proving impossible to find anyone else find it anywhere but not landy/milly it is really structured internally and everything felt secure I feel very doubtful they could/would replicate that

Wow thats quite a long post lol
Thanks guys sorry its ranty !!:o

This is youor wedding - quite honestly your family can stuff it! What does the supportive best friend/bridesmaid think of it? I think that's a beautiful dress, and it stands out, so many dresses are the same puffy shape, you felt special in it and thats all that matters, go back, alone, try it on again, and if it still makes you feel the same way, order it.

    Thanks dinah

My bridesmaid/best friend loved it she said it accentuated all of my best bits I had a lovely shape in it and she joined me in fuming with my family and said basically what I thought if they were bothered they should have got off their backsides and come with me !!

My other friend that came along shared her view and also said that was the best one I tried

    xx

Totally agree, it is YOUR wedding dress and as long as you feel comfortable and pretty in it who cares about anyone else?

The dress is gorgeous and I wish I had a figure to get away with something like that!

As Dinah93 ask what does the supportive friend say? It is an absolutely gorgeous dress. If that is the one you want go for it. The dress I got was the first one I saw and everytime I looked at others that was the one I kept going back to, I knew it must be meant for me! People will always not like anything you choose as they weren't the first to come up with the idea or are jealous! I had a lot of problems with my mum, we had a major arguement because everything I said or done about my wedding she didn't like, even the dress! It turns out it was because she didn't get to make the decisions I had made them between me and H2B. Hopefully all sorted now as we get married on Friday!
So go for it girl do what you want and what pleases you, remember it is your big day and should feel special!

Just adding my tuppence in here....
You love it (you're the bride) and your very honest friend said it suited you and flattered all your good points....

It is your wedding day....YOU have to love yourself in whatever you are wearing so that you beam in the photos...!!
Sadly, I have to say that you have to ignore the family and their views on the dress....if you love it, it's for you....
The feeling in your tummy is what happens when it is THE dress xx
Why does nobody say Thank You anymore??

Ignore their pettiness, promote your best friend to MoH, and hunt out a cheaper place to buy your dream dress.
