people are aware that athough no politician has had the guts to say it , there will have to either be major cuts or rises in tax in some form , i guess until we see a clearer picture the housing market could be quiet for a few months
Economy has been broken, nuked from orbit, destroyed, and it's only now that an election is stirring up interest that more people are starting to realise how badly it's been damaged.
Would I apply for a bigger mortgage now? No chance.
Sorry, but unless you sell cheap, you'll be waiting a while.0 -
I am not allowed to post links as I'm a new member but we are on rightmove and in the shop window. I do think that some of the pictures are not the best. Since the pictures have been taken we have painted the kitchen and the bedroom so I was thinking of asking the EA to come out again and take some more photos.
We are in Wakefield so the property market here is a bit slower than in the south and there are lots on the market in the area which are similar to ours but still I'd expect at least one person to want to look round!0 -
Our system generates a list of available property, how long they have been on for and how many rightmove hits each one has had. From this they will set a target for the month of how many properties they will achive reductions on. Once a property has had new pictures and reduced, the team in the office will try to get as many people out to view as possible.
It has worked in lots of instances, either because applicants thought it was overpriced before or there may have been someone that really liked it but didn't view because it was over their top budget. As we've seen from posts on here, people are still very British about making an offer under the asking price.0 -

I'm waiting to buy after the election. However with a deposit, good secure job hopefully and credit record I will be looking for people to drop their prices or I am not going to view.
You have to realise house prices are at a big stretch for most and that is with low interest rates. With interest rates set to go up it makes most asking prices to expensive.
Cut the price below compition after the election and that might generate interest.:exclamatiScams - Shared Equity, Shared Ownership, Newbuy, Firstbuy and Help to Buy.

Well, I am trying to sell right now, plenty of viewers, just no offers yet. I do consider dropping the price (again) but will wait until after the election. People expect offers rather than full asking price but I have decided that I don't need to sell it really so won't reduce just to attract a quick sale. We can wait until it suits us now, there are alternatives to dropping, we will play the long game now and are not going to stress over it any more. We are in a position to drop the price and only have a tiny mortgage which we could easily pay off, but the people we will be looking to buy from may not have that luxury and I don't see the point in rushing to sell at any price.0 -
Im waiting to buy and sell after the election. Just to see what happens and what changes are made. Thinks might pick up after the election...Squish0

how many other houses are selling in your area? Are there sold signs going up or is everyone in the same position as you?0

I cant see interest rates going up for a bit even the conservatives have promised to keep interest rates low.
Also how will you know what a house is worth until you view it?
Are you going to say i will only view your house if you will accept a low offer.;)
All the election hopefuls are trying to push shared ownership schemes, why dont you consider one of these?
good luck:D0
