A really good idea to support her in lookng at costs etc, i bet it was a real shock for her - and thats the costs before the baby even comes along. At least you can be sure that any decision she makes is an informed one - sending you lots of love and strength - you're doing a really really good job. x

    Morning all

savingforarainyday - what a shock for you all :( Hope it all gets sorted out soon

Determined new ms - I too am impressed by the way you're helping your daughter, well done :) Must be a difficult shock for you too.. Well done on helping her see the realities though, and supporting whatever she decides.

Alternating sunshiney and hailstones here - the weather and my mood! Nice lie in reading book, but Mr Daffs feeling poorly and grumpy, so had to get up and leave him to it. Nice potter about tidying up, then big squabble and tears :( Now he's gone out, I've cried into my tea and fairy cake, and am in the process of pulling my socks up (long-stripey-pink-hearts-for-when-I-need-to-love-myself socks - thanks Fay!) and cracking on with a few things.

Might start with another cuppa and a read of my book first though :)

    SO... today I have...

    * tidied up (does that count as MSE??)
    * put birthday cards and presents away
    * repotted cheery tulip into cheery red enamel jug (very cheery)
    * put cheery home made cushion onto my chair in the attic (er, took about 10 seconds, but very pleasing to see it where it was meant to be!)

    And I will...

    * take the ripped sheet off the bed and repair it - although having put my hand through it AGAIN last night, I suspect it might actually be *threadbare* and may need to go in the rag bag... we'll see
    * go for a cheery run later (free exercise)
    * do 4 hours of transcribing - still got about 16 hours to do before next Saturday - eek!
    * plant some more seeds
    * put a couple of courgette plants outside - no idea if it's too early but I'm running out of space on the windowsill, so out they go!
    * a tiny bit of voluntary work, sending an email and writing a letter
    * pop round to a friend's house to look at knitting patterns :):)

and most importantly... be nice to poor old Mr Daffs who was feeling rotten and doesn't need me being grumpy back at him then bursting into tears! :)

Might also crochet some little flowers and do other small cheery things :)

Hope you all have a cheery day, have cheered myself up just popping in here :)
    xx

    Morning ladies!
Up early again - sooooo much to do today and don't quite know where to start!
Got a call from a Head of Dept yesterday just as I was about to go to the christening asking me for interview on Weds (I have another interview on Thurs too). It's all getting a bit stressful lately (and I'm not the stress type really, I one of those that just gets on with it usually). When we came home last night I just ended up in a flood of tears with OH looking at me blankly and quite bewildered! Bless him - men don't know how to do upset when you're usually the strong one do they? I think the wine helped bring on the mini melt down but its been brewing for a while I think - anyway better out than in and now I just have to get on with it. So there!

Had a cr*p nights sleep but have got up determined to get something done today.

    I have to ...
    • Write 3500 words for final assignment second half (first half all done and quite happy with it but this is wrapping up all of my "research" whilst in school) - won't get it all done but have to do at least half
    • Mark a load of books
    • Mark a mini project I set the kids (seemed like a good idea at the time!)
    • Start interview lessons - arrggghhh!
    And on the DFW front...
    • walk dog x3 for free exercise and fresh air
    • all food from stores
    • checked banks
    • try to have a NSD
    • one load of washing
    • put dry washing away
    • phone mum for a moan and moral support using free landline
    • be nice to OH to prove I'm not having a nervous breakdown just a funny five minutes
    • have a relaxing bath using up toiletries this evening (quick shower this morning)
Right better get on with it - marking first methinks?

    Have a good bank holiday.

I am not a DFW only have a student loan debt but I often look at this thread to pick up tips. I just posted to say - hugs to you xx

Sat reading the forum, thinking that I really ought to put washing out.
Out I goes with the basket to find hail, I walked back in, shoved washing in tumble dryer & turned it on!

Have just removed it & put it in the airers, as I have CH on (DS has a mate over & they upstairs on Xbox - me? I`d just put a cardi on!)

Think I REALLY need to try harder!

Off to precook 3 or 4 lunches for next week....
