Although I have just hoovered right through downstairs again, only did it yesterday but OH trailed in building sand, bits of plaster and stuff last night * rolls eyes* oh and I've hung some washing out, but that's gonna be pretty much it, and it's all good cos it's all done :A

Happy Belated Birthday to Triker sorry I missed it xx

Still plodding away in DD's room but we are having a massive declutter

Faced with a choice of chuck away some of your bags or some of your teddies get relegated to the attic, she chose to keep the bags but we had to have a goodbye ceremony for each of the teddies. Anyone would think she was 4 not 11 ! Left her to sort a box of dolls now

    LOVING the bed linen

Have put the kettle on for a cuppa for a bit of a break but first a question.

We turned the heating off about 10 days ago as it was warm and to save some of the £220 that we pay out on gas and electric each month but now it feel freezing the house is only 15 degrees and my hands are cold. I wander around in 2 or 3 jumpers/fleeces and I will put the gas fire on in the living room in the evening but would you put the heating back on?
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!

Too right - if it's a case of being miserable or warm, warm wins every time. If you've already put an extra layer (or two) on, had a hot drink and done some Flying and it's still freezing then I'd say put the heating on.

Yes! life's too short to be cold in your own house. Just put it on for a bit just to take the edge off. I currently have mine on but I do have a north-easterly bitter wind howling through the oh so fabulous, broken, prefab walls :(

Is it just me, or does everyone get bored half way through listing [STRIKE]gip [/STRIKE] items of interest on ebay?? got 2 bids on 2 items already, so happy about that. :j:j

No it's not just you, it bores me rigid which is why stuff doesn't get listed that often! The shop stuff I list is monotonous as it is the same thing over and over if different shades/styles. BUT I have had sales this week which does make up for the effort put in :)

Our heating is on 24/7 and controlled by the thermostat which is set at about 17 degrees, in fact it has just come on now as I type. Our house is only 10 years old and well insulated so our bills are not horrific. I hate feeling cold and personally think it is worth keeping the heating on if you can afford it and you feel comfortable in your own home, HTH.

    Right better sort these sales.

    Prepare salad
Prepare other buffet type food, but have cheated and bought some bits

Thanks for your responses - I think I wont have much difficulty persuading DH to turn it on when he comes home (I have no idea how to do it :o). I was just so surprised how cold it was - we're in the middle of an old victorian terrace and the walls are thick and you've all seen just how much insulation we have in the attic :rotfl:

Well the birthday cake is made but really needs more strawberries on it, so I'd better have a shower, make myself look respectable and then head off to deliver it (via the tip... my car boot is full of rubble... homebase for guttering, and shop to grab som extra strawberries)

Two batches of cupcakes made (strawberry and peach). Four more to do today if possible, so I can decorate tomorrow and then clean up the mess afterwards...
