New shoes cut my feet

I brought a pair of flat shoes from NEXT yesterday and wore them today for the 2 nd time. The shoes rubbed on both the back of my heel and my toes, causing them to bleed. I wasn't in a position to take them off and change them untill later.

Can i take them back as not being fit for purpose as i couldn't wear them for normal, everyday walking around? Do you think i hafve a right to return them at all?

Thanks

I doubt if you have a case ! Its just that the shoes did not suit your exact shape of foot - they will probably say its your fault for buying shoes that did not fit you properly.

    Is this for real?

They are new shoes they need time to wear in. If you didn't take them off when they began to rub and your feet bleed thats your own fault. I think you would be laughed out of the shop

You can only ask but if not you could try stretching them.

You used to be able to get a little wooden implement that would stretch them out or you could always fill a plastic bag (sealed) with water and put in your shoes then put them in the freezer overnight. The water expands as it freezes and the shoes stretch...but dont come back tomorrow and say your shoes are too big !

You dont have a leg to stand on Im afraid.
You should have made sure that the shoes were fit for purpose before you left the shop.
Are they too small, doubtful or they wouldnt be able to move to cause bleeding.
Are they a bit too big, you should have noticed this before you bought them.

Shoes should be comfortable the moment you put them on in the shop.
No such thing as causing yourself discomfort while they are 'breaking in'

What do you think Next can do with them if they allowed you to take them back. They would only be fit for the bin.
You wouldnt want to buy a 2nd hand pair of shoes that somebody had bled in would you.

You do realise that leather stretches don't you. So shoes will loosen over time. So yes on certain shoes if they are tight in certains areas they may loosen off.

Chances are if they rubbed like that that they're too big, not too small ;)

    OP, try socks ;)

All truth goes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Then, it is violently opposed. Finally, it is accepted as self-evident.

Of course i realise that, but they will only stretch if you put something too small into them. Anyway, too small wouldnt cause blisters, too big would because then there would be movement to make blisters.

If they fit properly when you try them they wont stretch because there is nothing there to make them stretch.
