Capital One woes - accessing online account after card cancelled.

Maybe if everyone phoned for account balances and transaction lists all the time, the sudden increase in (much more costly to them) call centre usage would help persuade them to get their finger out and fix the problems with their site. >-)0

Just had a look at my account.
While it says there has been no activity since my last statement, the outstanding balance figure is a bit more realistic.
Give them another week or two and they May get it right0 -
I have had the same problem for months since my account was "taken over". The new card is automatically registered under the same user ID as the old card, so attempting to create a new online account is pointless.
I was told last summer that it should only be a few weeks before I got online access again as they were looking into the problem. Still waiting....
And I'm not impressed with their call centre facilities. Many of their staff are located overseas and the quality of the connection often makes it very difficult to converse with the agent, especially if the subject is something even a tiny bit out of the ordinary. Their security procedures over the phone are appalling too - think about how little information you have to give them to access your account and even change that information!
Once I've worked out how to get my cashback reward without actually putting any more spend through the card, I'm closing the account.0 -
Ignorance and ineptitude is rife at Capital One - never more so than today - when after trying again unsuccessfully to access my account online following the reissue of new passwords etc... and failing miserably.
After a frustrating 45 minutes being passed round from pillar to post I've decided to put the matter in the hands of the Financial Ombudsman.
In reading out the address of the Ombudman to me, the prime contestant for Today's Most Unhelpful Person at Capital One tried to read out - South Qay Plaza - pronouncing Quay as Kway.
You mean Quay - as pronounced key - don't you?
No - Kway. It is pronounced Kway.
Oh alright - this does actually give me a clue as to why your company just CANNOT get my problem sorted out.
Hopefully there will be a tape of this call (and all my others?) available for the Ombudsman.0
