I'd be surprised if they didn't abolish them altogether tbh.

Either way, we're looking at a hung parliament anyhow from what I can gather. There does need to be some change though so hopefully whatever happens, we can get a system that works rather than a system that can be used and abused.

From what I read on their website they will abolish it for people with an income over 50k. Google conservatives and have a look. The website had a list of things down the side with all different subjects on.
Everyone I know wants to be a millionaire.
Not me, I want to be a billionaire.

Conservatives are not abolishing tax credits. (Well not anytime soon anyway)

At the moment you can get the family element of tax credits (£545pa) upto earnings of £66kpa. The tories are going to cut this upper limit by £16k down to £50k.

That is all they have said about it, they are targeting the long term workshy unemployed, not the tax credits system that so many people unfortunately rely on.

    So dont be worried.

That won't save much though really - as once you earn 50k you don't get the full amount anyway! It is rumours of changes to child benefit I am more worried about!

This needs to be in DT ...

Anyone who knows what the winning party (if there is one) will really do once in power should have won the lottery by now!
    Gone ... or have I?

You're right, I can't personally see that generating much as between £50-66k the £545 tapers off into nothing at £66k.

They could I suppose attack the universal child benefit but it's a controversial move and not what I would expect from a ''middle class'' party. I would think that they would surely want to protect their own voters.

Then again, do the Roonies and Beckhams really need their £20pw child benefit?

Surely if you are earning 66k a year and you need to apply for CTC you need some sort of money management????
