lexi,
You have to realise that you no longer own your home, the kittens do.You are just there to pander to their whims & vices.
Face it,you have no lfe anymore...You are now a cat slave!
Get used to it.....

It may not be practical in the middle of a room, but i have used the plastic carpet protector, ?runner, across the doorway where my cat scratched. She cant scratch through it and has now either given up, or forgotten about the areas.0

Basically have 2 kittens ( well 1 yr now). My little blue bear is no trouble, but little ginge is well a bit of a hellian! he looks gorge, is 90% of the time sweet but he then goes & claws the carpet! The carpet is relatively new - we bought it after the kittens. strangely he never clawed the old one -poss as it had different smells etc. I have tried felliway, febreeze, cat 'no!' spray, being firm(but never agressive). nothing has worked. i have now put a rug on the carpet & yep he claws around it. it is such that it has now started to pucker. Any other ideas as to what i can do?
Cats scratch to sharpen their claws but also to spread their scent apparently - do you trim their claws regularly? What alternatives do you have for the kittens to scratch on? Some cats prefer carpets and furniture because they are large and stable, many scratching posts being too narrow/ small/ wobbly for comfort. I have had good success with corrugated cardboard scratch boxes which are only £5 from Pets at Home. Otherwise maybe try to make a scratch pad or post with a similar texture to the beloved carpet? Lastly you could try tin foil to break the habit as many don't like the feel of it.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -

What I did when Orbit was a wee kitten was to get a bit of wood, about 8inch wide by 2 feet long,I then screwed 2 blocks of wood onto the wall near his litter tray. The blocke were the same distance apart as the length of the wood.
I then got a length of rope & attatched it to one end of the wood by drilling a hole at each end of the wood about 3 inches in from the end, threading the end of the rope thru & knotting it.
Wind the rope around the wood the full length & then tie off the rope thru the other hole.
Then screw the wood onto the blocks, which keep the home made scratching post away from the surface.
