Can someone recommend best savings account?

Hi,

I'll be jetting off to travel the world in September, therefore until that time, and after I leave in fact I would like to move my money to a savings account that offers the best interest so I can at least benefit the best I can whilst there is still a decent amount of money left.

Before leaving I think I'll only need to make deposits, however after September I'll be moving money to my Nationwide account periodically as I'll use that account for Cash withdrawals whilst I'm away due to the low worldwide charges.

Can anyone recommend a good savings account based on the requirements above?

Many thanks in advance!

    I'd take a look at www.Tesco.com/finance.

2.75% with Faster Payments which (do check) will reach your Nationwide account the same day.

Have taken a look at the Tesco Internet Saver account:
    Internet Saver Account

Competitive rate of interest - Up to 2.75% Gross / AER (variable)
    • Includes fixed 1.50% bonus interest on balances up to £100,000 for a year
How does the 1.50% bonus interest work? Is this paid as the full 2.75% on a monthly basis or is this paid after 12 months? i.e. what would happen if I had lots of money now and it was all gone in 9 months?

Full 2.75% interest on everything for the next 12 months, then it drops to 1.25%.

You might want to look at this thread before saving with Tesco.

You could look at the MSE Top Savings Accounts page for some tips.
