Breakdown cover?
What's the cheapest breakdown cover offering at the moment for roadside, relay and home start? (maybe lose the home start if the price difference is a fair bit)
Selling my car and buying an old runaround so I think I'll need to sort out some decent breakdown cover too :rotfl:
Would prefer the kind of cover that covers me, not the vehicle. Probably be changing car quite often and don't want the hassle of having to inform them. Probably be driving cars that are at least 10 years old most of the time as well, if that has any weighting.

Have a look at Green flag (and go through quidco when you do decide which to have, for cash back). Also some insurance cos are including breakdown, so check that out when you do your insurance comparison.0

Try autoaidbreakdown.co.uk I've just renewed for £35, This is for myself and spouse, driving any car. Roadside fix or transport to home.
I notice the website currently seems to show £37.
They've been the cheapest for a few years and it worked for me a few months ago.
Also featured on the moneysavingexpert website I think.

just had a quick look am i reading it correctly that you pay then reclaim costs after a breakdown ?
we are thinking of going with asda breakdown costs £74 for roadside/ home/relay0 -
I use rescuemycar.com. It was £42 pa inc homestart for a 03 reg with over 150,000 miles and anytime I've had to use them they've been good.
Only thing is the car is covered not the driver.0 -

Correct CHRISSYG.
You phone them, same as any other breakdown policy. They get a truck to come out, same as any other policy. The guy either fixes it or takes you back home or to garage (maybe to onward destination too, didn't check)
You pay the chap who came out, credit card will do, then send the receipt to autoaid who pay within a few days (well they did for me anyway).
I went for it because of the reduced cost and it covered self and spouse for any car.

So you had no trouble getting paid out then?0

No trouble at all.
I've been with them for two or three years now, and always wondered that myself. I was quite looking forward to seeing if it worked, and it did work very well.
Seemed just the same as any other breakdown service.

Oh, forgot to say the car was 19 years old too. Age is no problem!!
