I wouldn't worry too much as I find it highly unlikely you will get the job anyway, having been unemployed for that length of time and by your own admission you have done nothing to find work for the last 12 months, you won't exactly be seen as '30k material' by the interviewer I shouldn't thinkAug GC £63.23/£200, Total Savings £00

I really despair of the fact that (a) you are better off on benefits than someone earning 29.5K and (b) on your own admission have done nothing to find work for a year. This country really is in dire straits…
Advice-wise, well if you have no kids I suspect that on a salary of 29.5K you’d get no State assistance. With rent of £1,550pm clearly a take home pay of £1,856 is not a viable option. But, having been unemployed for so long I doubt you will find a job offering you more. Have you considered – or would you consider – moving to a cheaper location/property?
Hi and cheers for the reply.
I should just say that i didn't giveup on applying for jobs cos of laziness or not wanting to have a job,
as i would have prefered to be earning that money from a job as itd have given me something to do during the days.
I applied for an immensly huge number of jobs furing teh 1st 6months, but after only 2 interviews to those thosands of jobs applied for i just gave bothering wasting my time,
as i knew the job that i want for my career and id managed to secure it for the future anyways.
I wouldn't be willing to move out of my flat to a cheaper 1 though unless it was necessary for a job that i really really wanted and loved for a career.
And most nice flats round here cost more than that rent even.
Plus even if i did want to move out i couldn't afford it as i dont have the money to pay for a delivery van to come and take my sofas, TV, bed, trees and all other furniture from here to a new flat.0 -

What you want doesn't matter. If you can't afford the rent, it's tough.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Having checked the OP's posting history, I have this to say: get a life you sad troll.
On April 17 he had been unemployed for 14 months (strange how two weeks later it's become 18 months!) and had been offered an internship. He also stated that he'd need a job paying close to 30K pa to match his benefits. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't 29.5K "close to 30K"?

On April 18 he decided to vote Lib Dem because it puts an extra £70 in his wages!

When did i ever say that ive been unemployed for precisely 18months to the week??:huh:
I said ive been unemployed for roughly 18months, which is true.
It may have been just 14/15months, may have passed the 19/20month mark now,
i don't keep a calendar chart of my wall of the exact week that i started claiming benefits !!!!!!!
And yes i do need a job paying close to 30k before tax to cover/match my benefits money.
If we are going to be so precise about everything though i need a job paying precisely 32.1k per year before tax.
Not sure who would say that thats not close to 30k?0 -
I know exactly to the day when I started claiming benefits......We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

No what i want does matter,
as its my life,
and so i choose to only do things in my life that i want to do and enjoy doing..
I can afford my rent.
And if i dont change anything at all i could go on affording my rent for however long i wanted to.0 -
30k a year and you want benefits on top :rotfl:
After that length of time unemployed I highly doubt you will get that wage, you would find it hard getting a minimum wage job, youve proven your a layabout after not looking for a job, or will you be lying to a potential employer just like youve done to jobcentre staff for the last year?
what have you done for the last year? um um sat on my !!!! doing !!!! all.0 -

Ok well thanks for being so helpful then.
Saves me spending monday afternoon doing an interview atleast i guess.0 -
According to LHA Direct's website, for a one-bedroom self-contained property in a very posh area of London (I used a Kensington postcode) the maximum LHA you can get is £350pw. Your maths would have to be pretty poor to make this £1,540pm.
If I don't respond to your posts, it's probably because you're on my 'Ignore' list.0
