I WANNA - Shere Khan Sauce
Comments
-
Shere Khan was a joy I discovered in Chester and was then overjoyed to discover Saino's stocking their sauces. Didn't sell well, so they stopped selling them, at least here in the midlands.
Probably because I'm sure they changed their Korma recipe and the consistency differed...0 -

The original post was about the jars of sauce although personally I prefer the Lloyd Grossman ones!!!
However I did REALLY enjoy the Shere Khan restaurant, one of the best I have even been to!
There IS a Shere Khan on Cheshire Oaks, ever since the one in Chester closed down!!!

Lloyd Grossmans are only £1.60 in Asda at the mo but we usually stock up when they are on special offer.
I like Korma normally and LG's are the closest I have ever found to an actual indian restaurants version!
All of the Grossmans are nice though, try any!!!

Selfridges sell the jars of Shere Khan sauces at an extortionate price...if you're desperate....unfortunately they taste nothing like real south asian dishes but definitely of the stuff they dish up at the restaurants....I should know.....if you like that kind of stuff, is still not worth the money.....might be better off trying something more authentic. Pataks is more like restaurant food too...but finer ingredients. But the pre-made pastes are pretty close!0

I saw these on the shelves at Asda today - £1.58 a jar.
IMHO they're a watered down version of the genuine article though!0
