You can definately change tarrifs with some providers and i thought you could also pay the full years rental to 'end the contract' although if you have inclusive mins/txts then it probably isn't worth it if you can monitor your usage.:j The £2 coin savers club = £90 :j0

Well done on posting your SOA Hootie. I'm sorry you had a nasty surprise with the credit card balance. I hope your husband is 'with the program'.
I wouldn't advise trying to cut back on your payments on the debts. If anything I'd advise speeding up the payments. (It sounds as if one has been passed to a debt collection agency, so I'd get rid of that one first.) Ideally start with the most expensive APR and get rid of it ASAP. You have some money free every month by the look of it, or will have once the Galaxy glugger has gone. If you can do balance transfers and there is an interest free balance transfer period on one card, or a cheaper credit rate, see if you can juggle your credit card debts onto one or two cards. This will help to cut down your minimum monthly outgoings, while still being able to pay the debt off. Cut up the other cards and put NOTHING else onto any credit cards.
I have to agree with you about cheap shoes. Feet are important, and leather rulez, but I'd steer clear of Clarks or similar top brands as your boys are still young so they are unlikely to get more than 6 months out of them before they need another pair.Fingers crossed, perhaps you'll find a good pair in a sale.
Well done on getting the SKY repayments reduced! :-)0 -
Hello,Hootie,
Well done with making a start on sorting out your debts, good luck to you.
I agree with Sparkles in one of the answers above,a slow cooker would seem to be a good idea for you, that way you would have a meal ready when you get home from work.I don't have a slow cooker myself, but I know a lot of people on OS board do and there are loads of great recipes on there as well.
Regarding your daughter's contact lenses,I don't know if they are a special sort but I wear monthly lenses from Boots Opticians and mine cost £6 a month by DD and that includes yearly check ups too.0 -
Don't get me wrong - you can change down your tariff eventually, but it's not a blanket 3 month rule.
As I said before, it depends who the network provider is, as to when you can do this.
You can ask to pay the contract off, but IMHO it's pointless, because you spend aprox. the same amount of money, but have no minutes or texts to show for it; and depending on the network, if you don't sort out a payment arrangement, you'll end up with another default. Proud DFW Nerd 135 :cool:Sealed Pot Challenge - 0190 -
Have you considered getting extra work your self? As a previous childminder you could possibly advertise as a babysitter. This would mean that you can watch someone else's sky and earn some cash. You could then get rid of the second sky box and family could all watch one TV - less electric used.
Do you really need mobiles? Think how much you would save if you got rid or replaced with a really basic pay as you phone from Tesco and only use it for absolute emergencies.0
