Probably a silly question- but did you take the spindles off the stairs or paint in-situ? (Is it even feasible to remove spindles?)

No, I did all of the painting in-situ. I'd be very worried about removing the spindles in case of causing damage and weakening. I've never even tried removing them, to be honest. I'd probably only do that if I was going to replace with new ones. Otherwise, I think it would be a complete nightmare. :eek:
However, I'm no expert on this. Hopefully, someone much more knowledgeable on here than me will be able to advise.0 -
