Do you need to go to "printer preferences" to enable the black?

It sounds like a faulty cartridge, perhaps you need to return it?

We also had printing problems recently - cleaned the heads, tried new catridge, still nothing. Then remembered someone saying that you sometimes need to run the cleaning cycle quite a number of times. This did work and all is well. We hadn't used the printer for a while so presumably it had dried up/got bunged up.

Ive just had to get a new printer and chose the Epson C84 as it uses fade resistant ink and has separate cartridges. The quality of print is far superior to the stylus 600 it replaces. So far I would not hesitate to recommend it, costs about £85. and peplacement cartridges about £7.50 each.

I've got the problem with an Epson C64 printer.
Got new blue cartridge and it will not print blue when I do the nozzle check.  Done the cleaning routine 6 times but still did not print blue.  Got another new cartridge but still will not print blue. All other colours print fine

Any ideas anybody, such as how else to clear any blockage?   :(:(:(
    Regards
    erb :)
