Free Family and Friends Railcard

Thanks for posting this OP. I applied for this deal last year as well and we saved approx £60 on tickets to Blackpool. It worked out cheaper than taking the car! I have just registered for the deal again as my card runs out in August and have let a couple of my friends know about it. :jThanks again.

Thanks OP we got this and the reduced one last year so was hoping they would do this again (about the only time their is a use for the daily mail beyond emergency bog roll)

Incidentally we don't have children between 5-15 but do have 2 children under 5. We can still use the railcard as long as we purchase one child ticket even though the child would be free. The savings on the adult fares offset having to buy the unnecessary child ticket. Doesn't help hula-hoops above but may help others with younger families if they didn't know about this

What exactly does this give you?

FREE rail travel? or cheaper rail travel?

I never use the trains so haven't a clue.

Gives you and child travelling with you a 1/3 off the full fare when travelling on the trains

Is this off advance fares too or just on the day prices?? How many children can travel per railcard...I have two children...would it be better to order a card for myself and one child and hubby and other child? Or can i get the discount off for hubby me and two children off one card?
