Transferring from Pay as you go to Contract (Keeping same number & same network)
Hi all,
I'm currently on O2 pay as you go but I've just ordered an O2 sim only contract which should arrive be the end of next week. I'm going to keep the same number but I'm wondering what will happen to the credit I have on my pay as you go sim card? Will I lose the credit or will it be taken off my bill?
I'll phone O2 to confirm this once I receive the sim card but just wondering if any of you here have transferred over and what happened to your credit?
Thanks

If contract was ordered by anyone other than o2 direct itself, the only way to keep the pay and go number is to port to another network on pay and go and port back later onto o2.

The contract was ordered from the o2 website. I thought I could have changed my number over without them sending the sim card out but after the order went through it gave me a link about keeping the same number. Once I receive the contract sim I have to complete the 'keep my number' form.

I did this a few months ago, albeit with Orange not O2, and yes the remaining credit came off my first bill. I did do it in store though, so a quick phone call to customer services might be in order if it's not clear?Excuse any mis-spelt replies, there's probably a cat sat on the keyboard0

Just found this info on the O2 website:If your number is currently on O2 Pay & Go, no PAC code is required to transfer your existing number across to your new SIM card. Just call customer care once your new contract sim has arrived on 08705 678678. Your number will be transferred within two working days and any existing balance will be transferred and appear as credit by your second invoice.A home without a dog is like a flower without petals.0

This is nothing to get excited about, but when I switched from O2 PAYG to SimOnly they also credited a few quid which showed up on the bill as "PAYG Loyalty Discount".0
