I did check b4 i comented and i dont pay tax when i started work the advisor worked out and printed off what my income would be now i'm back in work which clearly states i will not pay tax for 12 month because i'm either disabled or a parent that has claimed income based benifit for 26 week or more and i will also be entitled to claim wtc. I also receive inwork credit of 40 pound per week which i send my wage slips every 12 weeks and they pay that for 12 months
If you are so insistent that you are correct, please provide evidence. We are all happy to learn!Gone ... or have I?0 -
Oh yeah i'm really going to start gathering evidence to prove something to you which i know i dont pay! Go to your local job centre and enquire there i'm sure they would be happy to give you any details you need as i'm not willing to show any of my private info over the internet and i dont think any body else would. The only thing i have to prove i dnt pay is a letter and wage slips0

Ty all for your replies, much appreciated! Hi McKneff, i'll be working 16hrs a week, but am unsure what my take home should be? thank you again for all your replies. x
On 16 hours at minimum wage you wont have to pay any tax / NI, assuming its your only job, so your take home pay will be £92.800 -

Ive not looked online and all i did was when signing off benifits i had to get a pay roll number off my employer and give details of hours i work which is 30. They took tax and ni for about 3 to 4 weeks then i was paid it back with my wage and have not paid it since. Ive just got most of my wage slips out and the state tax nil. So as far as i am aware i dont pay tax0

But do you earn enough (£6475 over the year) to even be taxed?Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Hiya my income is 7427.00 for full years i had to get a pay roll number off my employer and give details of hours i work which is 30.
If that's hours per week, and you work 52 weeks of the year then you are not receiving the minimum wage.
OP
Yes the amount is before tax/ni/student loan deductions are taken, but sa snakeeyes mentioned you won't actually pay any tax or ni for 16hrs@ £5.80 if you are on a 'standard' tax code of 647L or larger. You'll still be credited (to your ni account only) with ni contributions though. (useful for pension/ssp/smp etc)Not just a sucker for sweeties..:o0 -
Hiya i worked just over 40 weeks as i said i started back at work around 9 month ago after having a year not workingSucker_for_sweeties wrote: »If that's hours per week, and you work 52 weeks of the year then you are not receiving the minimum wage.

If you are not able to provide evidence then how do we know what it is you are receiving?
We all share information on this board, nobody knows everything about the system. However if we want to tell people about something that is not well known we will back it up with evidence, not just 'this is what happened to me'.
Any benefits will be on www.direct.gov.uk and www.dwp.gov.uk.Gone ... or have I?0
