As an idea, maybe do what my sister did and put a little note in with the invites for guests to request a song they want, and to return with their reply? That way it's likely that people will get a song they want played and it saves you having to think of too many songs."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0 -
Thanks for all the helpful replies, feel less nervous about it now! Minerva_windsong, that's a great idea, might ask the guests to suggest 2 songs each and pick the best ones. We haven't got a lot of guests coming, 60 in total for the evening at last count so I think it could work out well.0

I like the suggestion about guests choosing their 2 favourite songs, at least they feel involved.
With regards to using Spotify and Last.fm. You have to watch these as sometimes the tracks are different versions ie:- re-recordings/remixes or live versions. You will not find any Beatles tracks on Spotify and lot of other famous artists/groups too.
In terms of quality though. Spotify is better, as Last.fm quality is a bit ropey and also on my laptop it skips and jumps sometimes. Although the Iphone/Ipod touch app doesn't seem to have this problem.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £24,616.090 -

Hi I had an Ipod set up for my wedding the hotel provided a sound system I set up the playlist and it ran perfectly and saved a lot of moneyBarclaycard 0

Really in need of some advice on this one. Hotel DJ was rubbish, however we were tied into it as part of a package. He really was dreadful with complaints being made by our guests.
The Hotel are not prepared to give an inch, if it was a meal we would have sent it back and received a refund. All they will say is, "they are dealing with it internally".
Anybody have a solution to this?0 -
Ive heard about one of these someone at work went to but said there was awkward silences between songs as one finished and the other started0
