I am a bit stuck on whether to wear suncream on my body as some rub off onto clothes and I dont want to ruin my dress ! Any ideas on non transferring long lasting sun cream?
I've heard good things about Reimann P20 single application cream, but haven't used it myself. If you Google it you will find reviews and information.
Loving reading about make-up tips. Am pretty hopeless with my own make-up but I would like what I do manage to put on to stay put - especially in the heat of a Grecian afternoon!
If you have nothing constructive to say just move along.0 -

I discovered an amazing suncream last year.
Garnier Ambre Solaire Clear protect spray

It goes on light, rubs in like a dream, then you don't have that sticky suncream feeling for the rest of the day. It feels like you've not got any on.
Best ever!
Plus it's half price at tescos at the moment :money:0 -
I'll second the Garnier clear suncream, the spray is brilliant and it's all OH will use! I'll be wearing it on my wedding day as I don't want any nasty sun cream marks on my dress!
I'm worrying about my make-up melting as it's going to be pretty hot in the Dominican! I'm hoping I won't need much as I'll have my 'healthy glow' from being in the sun the week before, but not sure about eye make-up as it doesn't really last on me! That Urban Decay primer sounds good though, I'll have a look at that!
I also agree that Benefit blusher is great, I've got Dandelion and it's lovely. I'm very pale but it looks really natural on me which is great as most blushers make me look like a clown!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. Was going to say Estee Lauder Double Wear. They also do a light version which I prefer as it doesn't feel quite so heavy.
Also a trick I have been taught by beauty types is if you use a cream eyeshadow (or indeed an eyeshadow primer, my personal favourite is Urban Decay's Primer Potion) and then put powder shadow over the top, the powder 'sticks' to the cream and stays on.
Primer wise I would go with Laura Mercier."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0 -

I've not tried them myself, but I wonder inf those powder mineral foundations would work in the heat, as they're not a liquid?
Also, for lasting eye make up, try dampening your eyeshadow brush before applying - it makes the colour bolder & last longer in my experience.0 -
I've been an Estee Lauder foundation wearer for a while now. My god, when I found it I almost cried it was so good. One thing I have found though (for me personally) is that it 'whites out' on photos, ie makes you look pailer than you are. I read this once on another forum, and thought OMG, thats right!
I'm about to go to Mac to pay £25 for their makeover thingy to see what that looks like. All my friends swear by Mac, and I do look at FB pics after a night out and think their faces do look more even.
If I had the money I would have my makeup airbrushed. Had this done a few years ago as worked for a spraytanning company, and MY GOD. But costs rather a lot I think.LBM January 2017 £34k will have paid back finally by my DFD May 2021got my first store card on my 18th birthday, never known a life without the grey cloud of debt looming over me. 18yrs and the end is finally in sight 🤩0 -

Thanks for the eyeshadow tip, will try that tonight!
I've actually been thinking about getting some mineral make-up, when I was in London I got my make-up done at the Bare Minerals counter in Selfridges (by a camp little Italian man!) and it was really nice actually and they had a pretty good deal for the starter kit. I think my Mum uses mineral make-up and she's on holiday at the minute, I'll have to ask how it fares in the heat!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. Thanks for the recomendations on suncream. Will check that out.
Im onto eyes now. I am thinking of having individual false lashes for extra impact on the photos. Debenhams brow bar do a full set of individual lashes which can stay on for up to 2 wks for £10 - so they can be done the day before the wedding. No mascara needed!
I went for my clinique lesson but it didnt go as well as before on my eyes. Anyone know of a good online video i can watch on how to apply own eye shadow with different looks I can practice on ?0 -
There are 2 girls on youtube who do loads of good make-up tutorials, search for pursebuzz and makeupgeek (I think that's what she's called) and pick out the 'look' you want from their millions of videos!
That Debenhams eyelash deal sounds good! I want to get eyelash extensions and it's about £60 in the salon near me! Wonder what the difference between them and Debenhams is? I need something quite hard wearing as I'll be on holiday swimming a lot the week before the wedding and I don't want to only have 3 lashes left for the Big Day!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. When i got married last year i decided to do my own...
I knew given my sensitive skin and the fact that my skin is pale I would either end up in a rash or as orange as a tango can....
I had a try out at the Clinique counter and it was good as she actually taught things as she went along, even my sister who wears her make up most days learnt a thing or two :rotfl:
We did struggle to find a foundation that was pale enough, we even tried tinted moisturisers and they were too dark..
In the end we found Clinique's Almost Make Up was great, very light and very natural...
I would recommend that you practise a lot if you are doing it yourself. My sister drummed that into me and I did....
If you have a try out as well don't be afraid to say that it's too much...I had to say it a couple of times and the girl bless her at the end whilst pleased with her result said I was one of the most natural girls she had done....:rotfl:0
