I admit that on the rare occasions that I use foundation then I will use Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse in nude - it stays on all day and isnt overly heavy on the face and I also set it with some face powder (I use Bobbi Brown) - generally I use a mix of Bobbi Brown, YSL (touche eclait) and Maybelline. If you don't want foundation why not go for a tinted moisturiser? Chanel do a good one but Max Factor also does one.

practice with whatever makeup you decide on and then take pictures! i am having mine done professionally and the lady warned me that some light reflecting products (like touch eclait) can leave white circles under you eyes in the pics cos it reflects the camera flash! not a good look for you wedding pics!

Definitely. I took pictures at our christmas do and so many people had white circles around their eyes it was scary..!

Mascara - I got a sample of clinique "high impact curling mascara". I went on an evening out last night, despite cycling to the gym in the wind today, an exercise class, a wash and makeup wipes it's still there. In fact the negative is that it can be tricky to get rid of! No panda eyes..!

The best mascara I've found is Max factor masterpiece waterproof - it is seriously impressive (I wore it to my dad's funeral and at the end of the day it was the only item of makeup that stayed on). Would definitely recommend if there are likely to be tears.
    Nobody I'd rather be ;)

    Airbrush.
One make up artist told me a lot of celebs have their makeup airbrushed on. It gives a 'flawless finish' and lasts all day. I've never seen it done in real life but I asked at a salon and they quoted me £150 for a bridal package. I am considering it because I am a cryer :-)

Primer- Definately required. I have used a lot but the best is MAC prime & prep. It was voted best by vogue too and everyone I know loves it.

Under-eye cirlces- Its best to set your undereye concealer- but normal powder is too heavy. Laura Mercier do secret brightening powder and its so light it sets under your eyes withour caking but also helps to block out the blue bits. It also last for AGES (had mine for 2 yeard with daily use and still loads left ). I also occasionaly brush it on other parts of my face too.

Foundations -I find its really tricky to get ones to match and last everyone. I have used Laura mercier silk creme, it lasted ages and gave a great glow but you have to apply it with a sponge. Best to get it put on free at space nk to see if you like it.
Im now off liquid foundations as I find them to heavy so now use mineral.

I think the best thing to get you make up to stay in place is good skincare.
Soap & glory do lots of great products at good price-
Youthful serum leaves your skin silky & pores smaller.
Super eyes great for bags/ puffy bits
Bright here bright now- like skin flash , a luminous instant radiance moisturiser .
If you get them on the 3 4 2 at boots all the better .

YSL Touche Eclait, hides any dark under eye circles like you would not beleive.

I got to test this for beauty bible and it is fantastic I put foundation over the top of it and never got any white circles I do have really dark circles under my eyes though.

I don't know if beauty bible are taking on anymore testers but you join up and pay £30 and you get atleast £200 worth of stuff!! I've done this 3 times so far and the products you get sent are brilliant all you have to do then is fill in a questionaire.

For eyeshadow, try Benefit. I have fallen asleep in it after heavy nights out (oops) and woke up in the morning and it was still there, the same as when I first put it on! If it can withstand an evening/night/morning of drunken shenanigans :D then I think a wedding will be ok! It's called Creaseless Cream Shadow Liner (have a link) and looking at their website, they also have something called a Stay Don't Stray hehe which is a "stay put primer for concealers and eyeshadows", which might also be useful.

    Hope that helps!

I have had same dilema with wedding makeup - professional or self??? Ive opted for myself.

I went round some counters and tried products. i have a few laughter lines around eyes and some foundations were terrible at making this worse and some of the looks they gave my I hated !!! But i also found the look I wanted and I found Clarins /Clinique / MAC to be the best.

The foundations I rate are Clarins True Radiance (light - med coverage) and Clinique Even Better - which I will be wearing for wedding day.

I had alergic reactions to some of the products i tried which helped me decide not to have professional as I may react to her products. Plus the expense of proff - £75 - £150 for trial and the day. Instead i got advice and free trials from counters and bought the products I liked.

Some counters - eg Estee Lauder / Clarins do free wedding makeup if you spend £15 on their products (and MAC for £25). But if you have trial and then want the same person do to the makeover on day what about if they are sick !?! I found a lovely Clinique lady who taught me how to do my eyes myself and i bought 2 products from her.

Lots of brands have good free advice on how to apply own wedding makeup on their websites - eg Bobbi Brown and boots. I also researched the best reasonable priced products on websites and books like beauty bible and websites like Marie Clare.

I am using No7 SPF face cream, Urban Decay eye primer (its the best & about £11), Clarins Beauty Flash Balm, Clinique even better foundation (has SPF) & gentle glow powder + eye shadow palette, Bare Minerals Waterproof Mascara, Max Factor long wear lippie with No7 lipstick on top plus a bit of SPF clinique gloss.

Also having false corner lashes which I will go to Debenhams Brow Bar to have done in the morning (about £6).

To be honest I have probably spent £80 on makeup in this process anyway - which I could have spent on a proff. But at least the makeup will last me all year so I have something to show for my money beyong the big day itself. Hope this helps others in their search for the right beauty look on the day.

I am a bit stuck on whether to wear suncream on my body as some rub off onto clothes and I dont want to ruin my dress ! Any ideas on non transferring long lasting sun cream?

Have to agree on the Estee Lauder Double wear foundation, it is an absolute godsend!

Benefit is great for pretty much everything else! Dr Feel good primer is amazing and makes your skin so soft. I always have Erase paste in my bag, its a concealer but you can use it anywear and it covers my horrendous dark circles after a night out!
Also, would reccommend any of their blushers, I have alsmost evey colour they've made and they are great. Some are more subtle than others so depends what loo your are going for.

I'm doing the makeup for the bride and all of us bridemaids so i've been scouring the shops for weeks for the perfect things.....
