I am amazed that the police were so helpful so quickly! Taking pictures and fingerprints..... is usually saved for murders round here! I have never seen them doing it..not even on The Bill! Well done to Kennington Police ... but what wasted resources when you knew who it was..he was only next door..and you dropped the charges anyway!I have had brain surgery - sorry if I am a little confused sometimes

Well he was 15. The incident happened around 4.30am, his not a nice person to confront, called police immedietly and they came and arrested him. btw he did try make a runner and when they did put him in handcuffs he started to lash out at them, he was taken away by 5am.
Went to sleep as they said they will call for a statement, they called at 9 saying they will come to pick me up but then said they get held up in something. Then I got a call later on around 11am and a guy came and picked me up, head of robbery unit or something, he took my statement and I provided pictures of the phones which were on Auctiva luckily.
Got home around 3pm, had a rest as I barely got any sleep, then came on the net and went on eBay to see how the auctions were going. I was told by a police officer to end the auctions as they wont be able to get my phones back before tomorow.
Around 6-7pm a police officer, lady from a community group, god knows who she was never met her in my life and this other uniformed police officer. They came and said that the boy did admit to everything after denying it when everyone knew he was lying.
As we were neighbours and have had a good relationship with them for the past 5yrs the cid officer said it would be best for me to drop the case as they got the phones back and the boys family also thought the same. They signed all the paper works first then the officer came to my house and I signed everything.
It was the CID officer who persuaded me to drop the case, I didnt mind as long as I got my phones back and I really did feel akward as it was my neighbour, I knew there would be problems with the boy if I did take him tou court but the main reason I dropped it all was because it would have been time consuming and would have affected my studies as cases tend to take forever and the fact that the boys family and polcie offer thought it would be best to drop it, so i did.
I was suprised that it was all so fast. It was the same guy who I dealt with all day. The guy who took fingerprints came from Brixton Police Station, I did not see him because I was at Kennington Police Station giving a statement.
It doesnt matter if he was next door, What would have oyu wanted me to do at 5am? Knck on his door and say why was you in my room taking my phones? He also tried to punch me when I got out of bed but luckily I moved and he ran off after that.
Its up to you if you want to believe me. Thats the whole situation explained which I did not need to but after seeing some of your ridiculous posts I thought I had to reply. I dont have anything to prove, I know what happened, and thats that. Im the one who has to lock the balcony doors which were kept open before yesterday in a SAFE, private area and I have to watch my own back from now.

That is exactly how I had imagined it happened...except for the tried to punch you bit .. Spooky ! Glad its sorted ..but its likely there will be a bit of a frosty atmosphere from now on I should think! What was that lad thinking of ... I do think I may have knocked his door though ..5am or not! Even if he is not a nice person(obviously) he would have had to deal with his parents. If he tries it again - take him on Jeremy Kyle (and dont drop the charges!)I have had brain surgery - sorry if I am a little confused sometimes

Now that I find hard to believe.
The police spend time money and effort on your "case" and then ask YOU to drop it?
So effectively what you've done is let this "boy" get off scott free to do it again with no punishment?
I know you're only about 16 MOE, but really. It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.
Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.0 -
why were cid involved around here that would have been a job for uniform
and i also find it hard to believe that they would ask you to drop the charges
they could still go ahead and prosicute without you which i find hard not to believe especially when you had soco all over your room
forgive me if i am wrong but i think you are talking !!!!T&C APPLY0 -
I had a SOCO out within an hour when i report our break in. It was in another part of London.
I don't think i would have dropped the charges even though i understand why you did it. I think dropping charges gives the criminal the impression that what he did was not serious and he won't be punished if he does this sort of thing. I don't believe this is the first time he has done it and it definately wont be the last.0 -
Dont believe me then. I dont see what benifit I will gain by lying, some of you are just unbeleiveable.
The guy who dealt with me was head of robbery or something like that, he had cameras and other stuff which said CID, so obviously I htought he was CID plus he had no uniform.
They came with a bishop, I dont know what you call them, lady priest? and she said because they are your neighbours and their mother has done some owrk for the comuunity it would be best to drop the case but was still up to me, I wasnt FORCED! ! ! Their advice was to drop it and I did.
Maybe they dealt with it very fast because he was 15? When I did ask them how long will the court case take if there was one they said it will be quicker than an adult one as they are dealing with a juvenile.
Would you have dropped the case? Maybe it was the wrong decision but I though I'de rather have a stable relationship with my neighbours than have them as enemies for many years to come, imagine that. Also we cant help seeing them every day as we have a private park behind our house and everyone is there inc. our neighbours, a court case and maybe a prosecution would have made things very awkward.
Subjects changed, All I wanted was advice on how to end my auctions, not questionning from you lot. What happened has happened, not my fault that my local police get things done much quicker than others.

So are you lot going to say Kaminari is lying because SOCO were round her/his house in an hour?
I would like the moderator of this section of the forum to close this thread. I dont see why I have to explain myself and the whole situation which has got nothing to do with eBay! ! !0 -
Dont know why some get jealous at the fact that my situation got resolved in a day.0
