I have loads of stuff at my parents' house and they have been asking me to deal with it recently in case they want to move, but I just don't have

My sister left home 6 months before me. The day after I left home, our mum rang us both up to collect the stuff we'd left as she was binning it if not. Why my sister got 6 months grace first I don't know

If you feel guilty about throwing it out, just do a boot sale and present them with the cash and say Here's your stuff I packed it for you, very few kids are gonna object to that!Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -
This thread reminded me of when I was not long married - my mil called one day with a few boxes of my husbands belongings. She was beaming from ear to ear. I wasn't too happy at the time but actually it was an eye opener!! I think its great to see your other halfs history even if its in a card board box! & we did have a few laughs.planing for the future, living for today

I have roughly 2000 books at Mum's - we don't have space for them here. I'm loathe to throw them out as they are my degree books from 20 years ago (French & German literature) but I don't hold out much hope of selling them. I did try to donate them to my old school but apparently language students no longer study proper literature! The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.0

The day after my son moved out, my husband chopped his bed up and had a bonfire!

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
I get a box of items delivered each time parents visit now. After 13 years away they decided I could have the stuff back....0

When I left home at 18 my little brother took over my room on the same day as I moved out. Anything he didn't want my parents got rid of  they didn't even think to ask me. I think it was a little mean of them.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

Woohoo! I'm normal! Gotta go tell the cat.0 -
My parents were great about letting us keep stuff at home, but then of course, they went and got divorced, which meant ONE VERY BIG clear out. Now wish I'd taken away my Enid Blyton books gradually!Overpay!0

I moved out of my parents back in April - still a lot to move down to london, where I am now, from wales, but parents have stored a lot of it in the loft, and put it all in boxes in my bedroom, so everytime I visit, I take a bit more down. My parents are going to keep it as a spare room or office, although mother wants to create it into a gym! Although everytime I go up, it'll always by my room.~*Cerenia*~
