  • Is that really how Vodafone calculate their cancellation charges? Minus the VAT and 25%? Thats really generous of them.

I would have thought most were fairly standard as cost = X months of remaining contract.
  • Well, thats what i've read in a few threads. Ill give orange a call and see what they say.
  • I would have thought if Vodafone did such a thing it would have been for exceptional circumstances...i.e. someone losing their job or moving abroad perhaps. Instead of making a complete loss or going via the debt collection route and still get no money. I wouldn't have thought it was the norm, but I could be wrong.

I'd be interest to know what Orange's response is and why you are considering early termination?

I have two month on Vodafone left, I was NOT offered the 25% discount, it was cost per month x months when I asked few weeks back.

Vodafone do indeed use that calculation as their staff (and customers) will tell you on their forum. I believe it has to be requested on-line though as opposed to an over the phone/written cancellation.

Isn't it a statuary obligation? No VAT is charged because no service is provided.

    The 25% discount isn't though.
