How much better is it to get Euros out of a machine? I know it depends on charge from card, but a standard Halifax debit card....approximately?
Please help me...sorry its a bit rambling!

I was going to say, have a look on the Halifax website. However have had a look for about 5 minutes, but cannot find the information!!
In general Halifax will charge up to 2.0% above the Visa wholesale rate, which is still probably better than the tourist rate, which can be c.6% above the wholesale rate.
Best bet would be to call Halifax up and ask them.
