Hi.
Can someone tell me where i may order a cd that will enable me to sign up and get on the internet. Will not have access to the internet at the new place i am moving to.
I would like to have broadband but i can't find any without a minimum 12 month contract (i only need it for 2 months). So it looks like dial-up is my only option now (groans).....
It will be an NTL phone-line where i will be moving to and also want the flat monthly rate, no contract......
Please help. Thanks.

you dont need a cd
if you google dial up isp then there are loads to choose from and you can set up your dial up connection from there0 -
So i don't need an internet connection to connect to google?Instigated terrorism the road to dictatorship.0

I think what Lee means is that you obviously have a connection at the moment (else you wouldn't be posting here), so you can use Google to choose an ISP and set up a dial-up account before you move (don't bother installing any software) then all you need is your username, password & the number to dial.0

Hmmm, yeah that's why i need a cd. As i won't have an internet connection at the new place, and i am moving this evening.
So the only way i can get connected is to order cd's now and then sort it out when they send to the new address next week.Instigated terrorism the road to dictatorship.0 -
I see your point about the CD, but honestly, it's dead easy to set up your internet access without a CD, (you do just need the 3 things mentioned above - it's a 2 minute job) plus you don't get all the rubbish that comes with these self-install CDs - their homepage, adapted browser, silly links etc. post back or PM me if you want instructions on how to do it.0

Yeah i had a quick look at some of them. The only prob is that it seems most are for BT lines only.
The house i'll be moving to has an NTL line........Instigated terrorism the road to dictatorship.0 -

You do not need a CD!
All the information that you need to set up dial up is on this page. found using Google.

Well any CD's would not be of much use to you then would they! Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Ah, yes the non-BT bit may be a problem, but a quick look at NTL's page here: http://www.home.ntl.com/icat/dialupinternet, there's a link to order a CD!!0
