Well what else are you wanting to do about it? You have had some compensation by way of vouchers so I would of thought that that woudl be enough?Weight Loss - 102lb0

I have found that this site, lately, is being used by alot of people who only want to make money out of businesses.
You got compensation from a lump which was prob crumbs from the crisps (it happens, ive heard and seen them before) and now you want 'advice' on what else to do...????

I think you got enough recompense myself. I bought some bogof Branstone onionsa few months back, it took a few weeks to consume one jar mean time the other jar got some mold on them. I rang Branstone and was rewarded with £3 voucher enough for another jar and a few tins of Branstone beans more than enough and was thankfully rewarded, end of.
Just accept it and move on..0 -
I worked in a crisp factory once, a rather large well known one in the UK. Once my machine stopped and the machine minder pulled the bags through ant told me to throw them in the bin. There was a big lump in one. Guess what it was ? A potato

If you are asking people to give you advice on what to do with the "lump" I think we should put a call out for Nelly.
I think Nelly would find a way to put into words what the rest of us want to say!!!0 -

Disgusting!
And I've found that this site, lately, is being used by alot of people who react with rather unpleasant, sarcastic and hostile comments when somebody shares their complaint with other consumers.
Perhaps the OP wasn't trying to "make money" out of Somerfield, but was wondering if £3 in vouchers is proportional response for something that could have been a serious public safety issue. I would have liked a bit more information from the OP about the "lump" in the crisps, but don't like the way people jump to the conclusion that it was a lump of something harmless, like crumbs.
I was similarly angered when Morrisons gave me a piddling gift voucher to compensate for giving my partner and I serious food poisoning by selling us an item that was past its Use By date by 7 days, and the Use By date had been covered up with a sticker. This was a serious offence which could have cost Morrisons thousands of pounds if Environmental Health had prosecuted them over it. Soon after the incident we noticed that the same branch of Morrisons was continuing to sell the same item past its Use By date, which I think illustrates my point.
When companies react in such an arrogant and disinterested way over these matters, we are entitled to be concerned about their attitude to food safety. Giving gift vouchers for £3 does rather send out a message that companies would rather fob someone off on the cheap than carry out a thorough investigation and learn lessons from the incident.
Are we really to lower our standards by turning a blind eye to these matters as some people on here suggest - "throw it in the bin" - "move on" etc....?0
