The impact speed is 100mph.
The site in post #7 is just making the point that the energy and forces involved do not JUST depend on the speed, but the mass of the vehicles and the resultant deceleration. The question just says two vehicles - one could be a motorbike and the other a 2000 tonne train - impact speed is still 100mph but I'd rather be on the train!!0
