Hi there,
I need to pick up someone from T5 at Heathrow Airport on bank holiday monday. Has anyone done a pickup and not paid to park - is there any free pick up points? The parking prices on the website are very steep.
thanks all

Only been there a few times, but always see a few taxis parked just near the car park entrance, on the left. Usually with mobiles glued to their ears. I haven't had the nerve to join them yet, and I'm never organised enough with my pick-up. No idea about the legality aspect, but I'd be happy to assist anybody in avoiding the outrageous car park charges.0

Well parking at LHR is currently only £2.50 for 30 minutes so £20 is way off.0 -

I hate and I mean hate paying car parking charges. I'd be quite happy to park behind them until I got booted off, but would be paranoid about reg number recognitions and can just imagine a massive bill dropping through the letter box for unauthorised waiting time in a !!!!!!!g restricted area!!!0 -

It's never 30 mins though is it? Walking through the Terminal, greeting and hugging and snogging walking back to the car, waiting for luggage does not take 30mins???:(
Plus the petrol to get there, plus the hassle of sitting in a roasting car on the M25 on a Bank Holiday Monday behind miles of !!!!!!! traffic - someone might be getting Heathrow Connect back to London - oh, I am the world's worst girlfriend

Usually manage to time it just right as we live quite closeby so passengers text when they have landed and we time leaving home depending on wether they are picking up luggage or flying with just hand luggage.. I would be annoyed if I had to pay I must say.. couldn't you drive to somewhere closeby and wait for your passenger to txt telling you they were ready for pickup and then just go to the pickup zone..#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

Closeby is the M25 isn't it????:rotfl:OMG could you imagine just pulling up on the hard shoulder:eek: Yikes, think I will be doing laps of the car park to avoid paying.0 -
I was rather thinking of somewhere local OTHER than the M25!!!#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

Best way to do this is to wait off airport on a side street on the A4 Bath Road and wait for your friend to call you when they are outside so they can tell you where they are and wait where there is space. Beware of the parking restrictions on the side streets and even the McDonalds has Parking Eye type cameras. The man without a signature.0

You won't avoid charges by doing laps of the car park as you have to pay to get out...#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j
