Halifax Telephone Banking

Is there any other number than 08457 20 30 40 to register/use Halifax Telephone banking? The ones on Saynoto0870 don't seem to do the job.

Also, does anyone know if your Online payments are automatically set up on the Telephone service?

Try 0113 3809574. I've used it for the past year with no problems.

What options do you use navigating the menus to get to Telephone banking?

Thats Bank accounts, existing bank accounts. That puts you through to a human! They have helped before with transfers etc. but I have had to repeat account details. I thought there was an automated service somewhere?

Option 1, and option 1 again does put you through to the Telephone Banking IVR.
Anything I post is my opinion, so from time to time I may be wrong. I try to provide answers based in fact, however I don't know everything, so (like all posters on MSE), take what I say with a pinch of salt.

Alternatively, http://www.halifax.co.uk/bankaccounts/callback.asp (that'll take you through to new accounts, but they'll put you through to telephone banking).

Have you previously registered for Telephone Banking? Maybe thats where I'm going wrong, because I always end up in the call centre queue (having entered account number+sort code - perhaps it uses this to recognise if you are registered)

Yes, that will be your problem. When you the IVR asks for your account number and sort code it checks to see if you are registered for Telephone Banking, if not, it passes you through to an advisor. Next time you call, ask the advisor to register you for Telephone Banking.

Press *0 when they ask for your account number and sort code and it'll put you in the queue for a real person.
