    I'm untidy!

When it comes to cleaning, I just plug my mp3 player in, listen to some bouncy tunes I can sing along to, and dance round the house whilst cleaning.

And don't forget, 20 minutes of cleaning burns 50 calories, and my dancing version must burn way more than that, so I get a treat when I'm done!

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

I work full time and find motivation hard, the kitchen is prob the best in my house as I don't have a dishwasher so always wash dishes asap and wipe down the units when finished washing.
I like my bedroom to look nice and clean otherwise I struggle to rest an I have to hoover the stairs often as I have 2 dogs.
I get motivation by thinking of someone popping round unexpectedly and that panics me into cleaning as I would be mortified if people said my house was a mess.

pigpen - completely off topic but everytime I see your avatar it makes me laugh, so thanks.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

the bedrooms can be done on a weekly or fortnightly basis.
You hoover your bedroom once a week? Can't remember the last time I hoovered mine :rotfl:. And the livingroom gets hoovered when there's a visible layer of crumbs on the surface :T

My desire to not live in a sh!thole is motivation enough for me.;)

I have to agree with PasturesNew, little things and being more thoughtful and less slovenly as you go along make all the difference. I don't find that housework takes up a great deal of my (precious) time at all.:D

Everything in my house has its place, and is put back immediately after being used.

If I drop or spill something, its picked/cleaned up there and then.

I tidy as I go when cooking etc, so the kitchen doesn't look like a bomb's hit it as we sit eating (open plan dining area, it'd put me off dinner!).

My bed is made as soon as I walk through the door from work each day (even I can't face it during the morning rush!), I think not bothering to make your bed is so lazy, makes the place look a mess, and encourages you to be sloppy elsewhere.

Whenever I spot something slipping, say the weekend's papers and supplements are still on the shelf beneath the coffee table come Wednesday, I just sort it out there and then. Takes 20 seconds.:)

The only task that I have to really put time aside for, is throwing the hoover round.

Naturally, you'll get the parents with kids telling you how they have it a million times harder.

You could get a dog (hairless)to deal with the crumbs. :)

I have a neighbour who always devotes about two hours in the morning for cleaning and the rest of the day is always out and her house is immaculate (probably something to do with the fact she prefers to take her kids to friends houses to play and make a mess).

2 hours every day?!!!!!!!! Some people have WAY too much time on their hands, the phrase "get a life" comes to mind.
